First - Congrats to Shelbi Tyteca! I'm sure you've worked very hard to earn this honor.
Second - Black and crimson? Where's the mighty Viking colors of crimson and gold?????
Dan M.
Viewmont Class of '83
Shelbi deserves this honor. Very few athletes get to start as a freshman and be as big of a contributor for four years as Shelbi was. Plus she is a great competitor and nice person.
Way to go Shelbi...nice pics and a REALLY nice person. Congratulations...and the video was cool!!
This is a great athlete and wonderful young lady. I appreciate what a great role model she has been for all of the athletes here.
Congrats Shelbi, You deserve this honor. You are one of the sweetest and most humble kids I know. You never seem to worry about who is better or who is doing this or that, you just do your job and work hard and are very respectful of others.
Dan, I'm with you, crimson and gold would be nice, but these kids haven't gotten new uniforms for about 8 years. However, the baseball team gets new ones every year. Whats up with that?
But new uniforms or not it is good to see Shelbi honored as Ms. Softball. Your dad sure knew what he was doing when he had you try pitching. Way to go kid!!
Sounds like a great person, athlete but Utah State to play softball...of all places....look at there record...she is better than that..
Great job Shelbi, It's fun to see all of your hard work is paying off!
Some people actually go to school for the education and the athletics are just a bonus. Most athletes should know that their athletic career could be over in a second so hopefully they go where they love the school not for a winning record. When it is all said and done typically your wins and losses are not what is going to get you a job. Good for you Shelbi, Utah State is an awesome school.
i caught for shelbs this year and she is truly an amazing girl! i love ya shelb! cany wait to keep playing with you!
Great job Shelbi and congrats! I agree with the comments about Utah State of all places. What about Arizona? Best of luck at the college level and I'm sure you'll do great for the Aggies.
Shelbi, YOU MAKE ME PROUD, scholastically, athletically, and most of all as an all around wonderful girl!! Even if you did kick dirt on me in warm up. It's always a fancinating experience to watch you play. Utah State is so lucky to have you and your sister, the Ti-tet-ka sisters, on the team.
Nice job shelbs!!! I love you!
SHELBI TYTECA I LOVE YOU :)
This article to the USU sports icon......pretty please
Even though I don't know you, I felt that I should congratulate you. Shelbie, congratulations. I hope you keep playing softball and keep up with school.
Congrats Shelbi! That's pretty awesome, but on a more serious note BYU's 7 on 7 should really consider requiring the athletes to wear helmets. Wearing helmets could really reduce the risk of serious head injuries. Some would say that these head injuries can hurt really really bad, while other's argue that they hurt even worse.....
