Thank goodness Joan Claybrook is retiring. If you want to know why your cars cost thousands of dollars more than they need to, just thank Joan Claybrook. Her "consumer" advocacy involving the automobile industry has cost the American economy untold millions and billions of dollars that have lead to a lower standard of living for all of us.

Claybrook is one of the "annointed" who think they know what's good for us much better than we do. Unfortunately, the whole Obama Administration is taking over for her. I'm sure that's why she felt safe in retiring.

Joan Claybrook has done good work in Washington on behalf of all of us over a period of decades. This honor is richly deserved.
