This shouldn't even be a story because MLS should not even be scheduling games during international dates. That's what the good soccer leagues do.
The difference between the MLS and the other soccer leagues is that we play the majority of our games during the summer. Other leagues play from August until May, which allows them to be free during the summer international months.
..We don't have any marquee players...
Yep, that about sums up our performance as of late. Alot of hard working guys, that just arent cutting it.
You hit the nail on the head. Good job.
having witnessed most of RSL games this year, I don't see one player that deserves a call up or would catch the attention of their respective national team. Not sure what happened during the offseason but these guys barely resemble the team that came on at the end of last season.
This just proves Kries is off his rocker!!! He doesnt care what other coaches say only his???? Can someone tell him they are sitting almost at the bottom of the table, and his guys arent playing good no matter what he says. All these National Team Coaches dont know what they are talking about huh? Good Grief!!! Enough Already!!!!!
...the Galaxy are missing Donovan and they won without him. How pathetic are we?
Again last week a pathetic end to a game. I have one more home game in me and then I am done. I have only missed two games the entire time RSL has been here yet if they don't win the next game at home I am done. Forget all the "true fan" garbage. They do not deserve me as a fan the way they are playing. Being a fan does not mean that you should endlessly toss hard earned money and time in a bad economy at a team that is not pulling there end of the bargin. YES RSL THIS IS A MAKE OR BREAK GAME AND NOT TO SEE IF YOU MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!
Totally agree with Anony 12:04. None of our players deserve to be called up. And if one was called up it should be nat borchers. he is the only solid player this year.
I honestly think that if yura movsysian would be consistently good he would have a shot at getting a call up by the u.s.
Your a joke of a fan, I hope they lose so we never see you again, and I am sure when they start winning and make the playoffs, I am sure you will jump right on the bandwagon with the rest of them.
Reply to RE:Worn out. Say what you want but RSL needs me. If all the other fans (most of the crowd) that feel like me leave as well there will be no more RSL for you, the team will fold. Do I want this of course not. But I am able to decide how to spent my own money and RSL does not deserve it right now. I have tried for 5 years to be a (true fan) now I am just a smart fan.
Movsysian is not available to the USA. He is not eligible. He is a foreign national. But yeah, if he finds a way to put the ball in the net, instead of 20 rows up, he might be called up by his home country. But that's an awfully big IF....
The writing is starting to show on the wall!! The management of this team is an absolute joke!! Best way to keep the ball away from our goal is to be attacking theirs. What does Kreis do? Take out an attacking player for a defender, then try to win the game by clearing the ball to colorado over and over again, allowing them to continue attacking our goal. Brilliant!!!
Now he is saying he is thrilled that his players arent good enough for National Team call ups...Oh man, what a moron!
The writing is definately on the wall!!!! Only question now is, how long until they learn how to read!!!!
@ worn out:
RSL has sold out the last 2-3 home games. If you don't go somebody else will gladly sit in your seat! Peace out buddy.
The first sell out had a major ticket promotion going to boost numbers. This is fine but you can't do it every game. The worst part was that 20,000 people went home disappointed because RSL played one of the worst games I have ever seen them play. The last game was a sell out because 10,000 young girls came to see David A. The other 10,000 fans went home disappointed AGAIN. RSL is haveing to promote everything but the beautiful game right now to get people to come. Next month it will be fireworks for the 4th and 24th. I go to see soccer not everything else and for 5 years with rare exception I have not seen RSL play quality soccer. I do not expect European quality but I do expect at least average MLS quality. So far we have had little leage quality from RSL. RSL step up, I want the team to succeed but you need to do your part as a team. The fans have done there part!
There is nothing more obnoxious than fan-on-fan crime because one fan states his desire to stay away if current poor form continues.
RSL doesn't have the luxury of losing any fans. "somebody else will gladly sit in your seat"? Are you insane? If it rains, the stadium is 3/4's empty. RSL does not have a large enough fanbase for that kind of arrogance.
I get so sick of "super fans" who lord their commitment to the team over others who just might have had enough of the lack of effort being put forth by the team. We get it - you're obsessive. Good for you.
