If history is any indication the Jazz front office will wait until the midnight hour before making any move on any one. But Fes' price is a bargin and should be done just to see what he can do instead of burying him in him D league.
mgt. will do the least possible.
boozer will be back.
korver will stay.
ak will continue to be a fraud.
another milk toast veteran vis a vis knight might get signed.
Why won't the Jazz make a move. They never do, they always wait until the deadline, and then make no moves. Same team, same players, same results,
The only change you can count on every year is an increase in ticket and concession price.
Stay home, don't support the team until the Jazz organization actually try to win a championship.
The players decide, not the Jazz. Once they opt out, they can re-sign them or let them go. The Jazz have their plan in place, but have to wait to see what Boozer does.
Based on the way he handles himself in media interviews, that's the kind of response he deserves from the Jazz.
perhaps boozer should be paid by the games played.
The Jazz should offer extensions to Booz and Okur, once signed they should then look for trade possibilities. Hopefully Korver will opt out, I think he is replaceable due to the fact that he is one dimensional. We need a defensive two or three type who can also make the 3 instead of Korver.....someone like Posey or Pietrus would be nice. If Korver doesn't opt out, trade him and Harpring's expiring contracts for a draft pick or a defensive big. If it looks like the market is drying up get them signed to reasonable deals so they are tradeable assets in the future. Nothing would please me more than seeing Booz in Toronto after he got his money!!
I have to agree with anonymous. The Jazz will be pretty much the same, sans either Boozer or Okur.
This seems par for the course with O'Conner, he never says anything. He may not be aloud to, but, at least make it known to the fans that something exciting could be coming our way. Maybe even mention that the Jazz would love to have Boozer back!
Boozer needs to learn to keep his big mouth shut...I am definetly opting out to I haven't decided yet? What a putz! O'Connor needs to make a move for BOSH and Gordon...give up Booz, AK, Almond, anyone but Williams but get it done or you're fired!
I hope it's because the Raptors don't want to let their fans know yet they are trading Bosh for Boozer.
First we had Scottie Layden, now Kevin O'Coonor. They are not tight lipped, they are unqualified for the position. What did Layden do when he hit the big time in New York, he was a BOMB! Or is that a BUM? What has O'Connor done since he came? Another BUST! Now we have an OLD coach that has no idea as to where the NBA went! Sloan reminds me of a guy standing on the corner waiting for his 8:00 o'clock bus that left 30 minutes ago. What a joke, all of them!
I'm starting to feel bad for the local sportswriters...every day I get online looking for breaking news about the team, and after every article I read, I think the same thing: "well, that's pretty much the same thing they wrote last time." I think we've got another two weeks before anything happens; till then, it's all just speculation. Unless Boozer gets abducted by aliens or something. That might be pretty cool.
Uh, excuse me, what has O'Connor done? Most teams, after their superstars retire, languish at the bottom of the league for years. We continue to make the playoffs every year--plus he got us Williams--moving up in the draft to get him was nothing short of a miracle.
I do think it's pretty funny that Boozer now says the ball is in the Jazz' court. That is hilarious. It depends on how they come after you? You are under contract for one more year. They came after you several years ago dude! Now you are the one threatening to opt out and get a pay raise. So YOU are the one with the ball in your court. YOU have to make the decision. You have it backwards.
As far as O'Connor being tight-lipped: I think that's the best move with Boozer. What's he going to say? Anything he says could be spun so many ways. So it's best to let Boozer keep changing his story until the midnight hour when Boozer will have to make a decision one way or the other. THEN the ball will be in the Jazz' court. Regardless of WHAT Boozer decides the Jazz can move on.
If he opts out: They could sign and trade him or let him walk; If he doesn't opt out: They could trade him or just let his contract run out. Etc., Etc., Etc.
Go Jazz!!! Get better!!!
s&t boozer for bosh! trade ak, korver to gs for maggette, crawford, sign ron artest resign milsap price and draf the french pg

i think with that line up the jazz could win the title next year
Mark Jackson was coaching the Jazz we could actually get some decent players in Utah.
This is funny. The Jazz fans are like Kings fans. They buy any garbage that is tossed to them like a bone to a dog by the team's owners and they gratefully wag their tails. Utah has the team they deserve.
"We could actually get some players."
We have 2 Olympians, 3 all-stars, one 2nd team all-NBA and 1 3rd team all-NBA player on this team. Playoffs 3 straight years.
The loss of Derek Fisher, without compensation, hurt the team a lot. The loss of full-strength players due to injury is a problem.
What players do we need? People who are first team all-NBA. None currently available or affordable.
Players who are physically indestructible. There are currently three in the NBA. Howard, Kobe, LeBron. Not available.
Realistically. None of what the fans currently seem to want can happen. So let's leave it to the professionals.
The Jazz have to be making moves to move boozer behind the sceen. Utah has no love for Boozer but he is an asset and can't be let go for nothing. Even if he is a bum he is still the second best guy we got. Warning to jazz fans if Boozer ops out and no body else does the Jazz could have a very poor year. Wiliams, Brewer, Andre, Paul and Okur won't take us anywere.
