Anyone who watched him on Saturday is probably embarrassed for the guy.

His shot/goal ratio is a mockery. If they counted shots as balls that came within 20 yards of the frame he would probably only have 5 for the season.

Serve this kid some humble pie and hope he starts passing a little more.
Dangerous? | 9:01 a.m. June 8, 2009
Kreis says he was dangerous? I don't remember any dangerous balls played in from Yura on the right side. Robbie Russell had a few. Yura looked out of place on the right side. He can't trap the ball, turn with pace, and beat a defender. The Colorado defense kept him contained all night. The only time he's beaten anybody this season has been a through ball he chases down where he can use his speed. No skill with the ball at his feet. My opinion: The goal he scored is not enough to keep him in that position out on the right if Kreis plans to keep a 4-3-3.

I don't know what Coach Kries was thinking when he said that Movsisyan had a good game. His crossings were not that great, his shots, all but ONE, was way off target, and everytime he got the ball it was only a matter of time before he was striped of it.
I sure wish that we still had the reserve league inplace to help him develop more.

Kreis is lost | 9:28 a.m. June 8, 2009
Yura is not our answer.

2 goals total? Weak.

You have got to put it on frame Yura.
Ouch! | 9:40 a.m. June 8, 2009
He hit me with the ball on one of his shots. I was sitting about 45 yards away from the goal in the corner. Missed it by ..."that" much!

"He was another player that I thought was very dangerous tonight, he did a lot of very good things," said Kreis. "He served a lot of nice balls into the box, and has worked extremely hard through all the difficult time. I know how it is to be in his shoes, and it's very difficult, it's very trying."

I hope Kreis is being sarcastic!! The only thing worse about than Yura Movsisyan is the fact that Jason Kreis is still the coach. Yura was the worst RSL player on the feild, yet Kreis is celebrating his play? His logic escapes me!
I thought Yura jogged to a lot of balls he could have gotten to if he went full speed. He's a guy that saves energy for a few sprints a game when he thinks he might get to the goal. Otherwise he just blasts "shots" and "crosses" into the crowd! Yura needs to take a seat until he grows a heart.
Kreis is the Problem | 10:50 a.m. June 8, 2009
The players are good, we shouldn't be 3rd from last in the entire MLS. If we had a decent coach with some tactical soccer knowledge, we'd have Movsisyan benched while he goes through this 'drought'. Tactically Kreis has this team all backwards. Its amazing to see Grabavoy starting as well, Kreis is mangling up our chances of having a good team. Checketts and family don't really understand the sport, so we will have to surely ride Kreis out like we did Ellinger, and finally the long overdue walking papers will be given after failed seasons and lost expectations from a good squad and even better fans.

I am with all off you guys. all night all I saw was Yura turn the ball over every time he got it. those shots that he was take holly molly, Any body could play in the MLS if the piot was to take shots like that.

I saw espy do a lot more them yora. If finely is ready to go next week and Kries does not start finely and espy than he needs look for another Job.

I also don't understand why Grabavoy started last week. Every time Williams is on the field the team settles down and has better ball control. Morales has been on vacation all year and then he sits out a game from cards and he and Beckerman get time off. Go Figure! Lets reward the players for stupid fouls by giving them time off. Maybe Russel will get a week off and a trip to Hawaii from Kries for his red card Saturday. I would stay with a 4-3-3 but put Williams in the central forward spot. He can hold the ball and play great passes to the other two forwards from this position.

Give him some more orange wedges and he will score more.
Fanny Pack | 4:01 p.m. June 8, 2009
Kries is the greatest coach ever, so shut it.
Re: Fanny Mae Pack | 4:12 p.m. June 8, 2009
...well arent you a funny one...
Re: Fanny Mae Pack | 4:42 p.m. June 8, 2009
Yeah, right! Movsisian is dangerous to the fans, I think checkets should put a net protecting the public froms movs dangerous kicks to the bleachers or the airplanes.
Let's rag on everyone. | 5:36 p.m. June 8, 2009
Movsisyan wasn't the only player out there sending shots into the crowd. Robbie Russell has at least one a game. Set pieces, dead center, 25 yards from goal ended up in row P from both Mathis and Johnson. Yura wasn't the only one stinking it up out there. The problem with this team is the team right now. There has not been one consistent performer out there for the past 8 games or so. Not Borchers, Not Rimando, Not Olave, Wingert has looked out of wack, Beckerman and Morales have seemed lost. And I'm Sorry, not even espindola (aka our Savior at forward) has really looked all that dangerous. This TEAM, from the Coach to Tino Nunez on the bench needs to figure out how to change something, because the talent is there across the board but they are not living up to it.

I thought RSL was clueless as to what they were trying to do out there. Set plays, no effort to get to the ball. The only through pass I've seen in over a year inside the box and our guy wasn't even looking. Didn't even see it. We control mid field and do nothing with it. We go down field and as soon as a defender gets within 2 yards, we back off and pass it back to mid field and play keep away and bore everyone out of their skull. Everything is 1V1 or 1V2. No 2 man game, no triangle, no setting up back post. When is the last time RSL ever mounted a serious, agressive counter attack. I don't remember ever seeing one. I don't know what Jason is pleased with, but what I keep seeing is not SOCCER. Real soccer is agressive (not necessarily physical)with great plays by both teams on both sides of the pitch. I don't know what to call this except STUPID.

"Every once and a while"

Where is the Desnews editor?

Also, the last sentence of the 2nd paragraph doesn't actually make sense.

I kind of stopped reading there -- and I'm an RSL fan who lives out of state. I know most of these troglodytes on the internet will read and accept anything, but if it makes it hard for literate readers to read all of your articles, you might want to consider hiring a (competent) copy editor.

Having the offense run through Yura on the wing making crosses was the stupidest decision yet.

Well, waiting for 6 defenders to position themselves and then taking on off balance prayer of a shot wasn't a great one either.

Hey, how about Rimando taking free kicks this week? It couldn't be any worse than what we saw Saturday.

Cam | 11:10 a.m. June 9, 2009
Yura is super talented. He's only 21. He'll learn how to finish. Be patient.
Grammer Nazi's Primo | 12:06 p.m. June 9, 2009
I agree with Grammer Nazi, the editing could use a lot of improvement; however, it's not limited to the Deseret News or Salt Lake Tribune. I see terrible editing on the MLS website all the time. Almost daily I find articles with paragraphs or sentences that don't make sense due to the lack of editing. Good luck improving.
Chadders | 12:41 p.m. June 9, 2009
Thank goodness Cam! I was starting to wonder if RSL had any rational fans. I really, really, really wish Kreis would watch the film from their matches. I'd guess 60% of the goals scored on Rimando he has no chance to ever get to (ie top of the far post from where he's at) He is too short both Setiz and Reynish are better. WHY ARE YOU PLAYING RIMANDO!!!! Also why do all the fans constantly give Borchers a pass? If I was the GM I would have already tried trading Rimando for a striker that can actually score goals consisentently, or a midfielder that can complete a pass. I would also try and trade Morales to Colorado for Belluchi, $$ and a 1st round pick.
Still looking for the net? | 1:01 p.m. June 9, 2009
Why not an article, "RSL, Still looking for fans"

Nice declining attendance. At least the Tribune gets it. The average attendance is continuing to decline. Hopefully the fireworks on 7/3 and 7/24 and David A performing will increase numbers, but you are still looking at less than $15K for you average attendance.

2005 18,121
2006 15,520
2007 16,015
2008 17,437*
2009 14,629

*2008 had slight increase due to 26K at LA Galaxy game. People wanted to see Beckham's wife I guess.

Re: Cam | 9:23 a.m. June 10, 2009
Seriously?

How long do you want us to wait? Yura won't develope into anything. He has had his chances. I want results now. Bring in a solid forward.

Re: Chadders

Ballouchy? lol, he sure ran around alot here, and was the most ineffective player on our team...Ya, let's bring him back.
Chadders | 9:50 a.m. June 10, 2009
I said Ballouchy $$ and a 1st round draft pick. I'd be willing to bet he'd do more than Morales is doing for us now. Next year's draft class will be pretty good so a first would really help us.
