It is important that BYU gets as many students into medical schools so the BYU law school grads will have someone to sue!...lol

BYU is moving up in all the academic rankings indices, but the truth is that they still do not get the credit that they deserve because of religious bigotry in this country. BYU is easily the most competitive academic environment in the state of Utah, as well as the surrounding states. It deserves to be right up there with the prestige schools on both coasts.

BYU IS a prestigious institution, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. As a long time professor (30 years) I have seen BYU move up,up,up in the rankings.

Forty-five years ago while on my mission we non-Utahns used to joke about the fact that to get into BYU you needed merely to be a Mormon and have a D- high school gpa. Not so anymore!!

It is great to see a Mormon woman excel academically and go on to medical school. Hopefully she will do a challenging specialty and continue as an example to future Mormon girls.
Her level of education continues to show that Mormons are some of the most educated people in America.

but where they don't have a medical school, similar to other top institutions it basically spells out that they really aren't as competitve. Get a medical school and that would change, but until then BYU will be second tier in most recruiters minds.

True. You need to be LDS, be from CAli, & have one or both parents attend or graduate from the Y.

Seriously, the university of Provo is great at those cookie-cutter, conformist degrees/careers i.e. JD, MBA, accounting, etc...
