Except for the sound problems, what a night! Angela Lansbury winning was a real treat! What a dynamic lady! The tribute to Jerry Herman was also very touching.

It seemed that the 3 young men knew in advance that they had won. They were headed for the stage when the names were being read. I thought they were held in secret until that moment. Have things changed??

I saw part of the show last night and was puzzled by something. They were nominating people for best lyrics or music for shows that have been on Broadway for years. Does that mean they are nominating and awarding the same people every year? Nothing has changed in the shows, so how do they determine it?

Bob2

That Rock of Ages thing looked like the biggest joke of the season and the dancing was like something out of an aerobics video. Neal Patrick Harris made an idiot out of himself 7 different times, specifically when he claimed to have "done" Jessica Lange (classy). Frank Langella--wow was he funny. The best choreography of the night was the stage manager running out onto the Guys and Dolls number with the back up mike.
I did like the obit tributes and Marsha Gay Hardens speech. Overall though, this was a lousy production.

Artistic Utahns

How disappointing - I love it when the country gets to see how artistic the guys in Utah are; so many musicals and 'reality' tv shows.

Re: Artistic Utans -

Is there anything wrong with musicals? We've got plenty of other talent here in Utah that we are recognized for, not just for live theatre and reality TV shows.

The Tony's were great this year, as they always are. I was surprised at how much I like Neil Patrick Harris as host. Looking forward to watching them again next year...

people from utah should stay in utah.

COLT PRIDE

Better luck next year to Will Swenson. Feel the STAMPEDE!!!! Go Cottonwood!!

theater lover

Bob2 must really not be a theater lover. I loved the production. So many talented performers and great production numbers. The Tony Awards is my favorite of the year hands down. This guy must not have a clue as to how much talent was on that stage.
