RSL Fan

I was offended by the pre-game "Dedication." I didn't buy a ticket so I could watch an LDS-prayer service, and Rio Tinto Stadium isn't an LDS Temple. It's a sports facility built on public land purchased with taxpayer money. I'm willing to wager that Bishop Webster won't be doing a pre-game prayer before the next RSL game. And I surely hope that RSL's tone-deaf management doesn't expect its patrons to participate in prayers before every game. This team may not have a prayer, but correcting that problem (rather than organizing LDS sacrament meetings) should be the focus of RSL's management.

"Belief in Kreis and the players"

Boy o boy

Sounds more like Kevin O Connor each and every day.

Stand Pat do nothing.

Huh?

what did they dedicate?

Re: RSL Fan

You didn't buy a ticket to watch a prayer service. You bought a ticket to a soccer game, and my guess is that you saw one. I didn't buy a ticket to watch all the fluff they did before the last game I went to, and I didn't watch it. I walked around the stadium and enjoyed the atmosphere of fans getting ready to support their team. Then I watch the game.
Bringing up the fact that it is on tax-payer funded land is pretty weak. Many buildings are dedicated this way - and not always by the Mormons.

Soccer Boy

I don't know how it is in soccer, but in real sports when the boss gives the coach a vote of confidence it usually means a change is in the works. Keep your fingers crossed that this joker is gone soon. Whether your a fan or not (like me) settling for mediocrity or lower and finding moral victories in losses shows a lack of reality and commitment. Just ask Ron McBride who thought he had won every game at the U the year he was fired. If the stadium is here and the city has a team the management should try to win. Totally unfair to those of you who pay good dollars for a ticket. Go Real!!!

Worried

Checketts doesnt know the game.

Doesnt have the answers.

Is afraid to get a coach who actually might have an opinion and possibly dissagree with Checketts.

Hence, unfortunately, Jason is safe.

STEVE-O

To the offended RSL fan. I guess you better just stop coming then. The owner of the team happens to be LDS so he gets to dedicate his stadium if he wants. I was fine with the didication itself but I did find myself chuckling when the guy blessed the gates, walls, ect. Then proceded to basically bless every blade of grass individually! I guess a dedication is typically a big thing but it was getting to a comical length!

As far as the game goes I was again VERY disappointed. Dave Checketts is right when he says the MLS needs offensive minded soccer with a lot of goals and action. This game was boring again. RSL is probably the most boring team to watch in the entire MLS and it's sad. If Checketts wants fast paced soccer he needs to either reiterate that to Kreis, or get rid of the guy. He is obviously playing defensively because he doesn't beleive the team has the capability to win with the current strikers!

The writing is on the wall!!

The writing is starting to show on the wall!! The management of this team is an absolute joke!! Best way to keep the ball away from our goal is to be attacking theirs. What does Kreis do? Take out an attacking player for a defender, then try to win the game by clearing the ball to colorado over and over again, allowing them to continue attacking our goal. Brilliant!!!

The writing is on the wall!!! Not even the "Behind the Shield" guys can find anything good to say even 2 days later...

The writing is on the wall!!! Time to admit it!
