I would like to see the refinery moved far from population centers. This would cost millions, but it's a cost that we as a society should be willing to pay. We can't force the refinery to absorb that cost. The refinery built at this location with governmental permission and with an assurance that it would not be forced to move as residential developments placed pressure on the area. I once commented to a family member who wanted my opinion of his view from high on the hill overlooking Bountiful, "You have a great view all right -- of the refinery."

The refinery was far from a population center when it was built. People came to live by the refinery. Why should they be forced to move? Not to mention there is a huge oil pipeline along that corridor.

Rich, your comment about moving the plants out of town are good. But if woods cross city had stayed with the writen agreementd from years past,(with the refinery), houses would not be next to it. The plant in question has been in place for about 60 years. And was out of town at the time. So who moved in on who? Home owners in the local area need to need to read thier paper work, (that they sighned), saying they new about the RR trackd and local manufacturing plants close by at time of buying.

Didn't you folks notice when you bought your houses that there was a refinery nearby???
Does that news come as a complete shock to you???
I hate to say your a bunch whiners, but you are all a bunch of whiners. And not all that smart.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
Get a Realtor and sell to someone else that won't notice the large, massive, huge, stinky refinery next door.

NO THANKS- | 7:12 p.m. June 6, 2009
I'm a Realtor and quite frankly, I do not want any listings there.. Sorry, but that's a bad decision on the part of the buyers.
Look around you when you buy.. what is the resale going to be like---- think before you buy.
