It's interesting how those land owners expresses time and time again for over a year in City Council meetings that they weren't interested in being a part of the city, yet mysteriously the majority of those comments are not actually included in the Council minutes. It's also interesting that Santaquin says they are promoting the farming rural lifestyle, yet they turn around and say they included those properties because of a future interchange. Nice double talk Santiquin, new interchanges aren't build or desired to promote farm land. The city wanted those acres, that protested the annexation and whose comments were left out of the adopted minutes, for one reason and one reason alone. Future Commercial Development. These acres that wanted to be left out are all contiguous to one another and wouldn't effect any of those wanting in. Santiquin sees the commercial development of these farms in the future. Hey Santiquin, can we see the official council minutes and view those comments? Back Handed Politics is the name of the game in Santiquin.
Not one of the Petition Sponsors (required by Law to sign the annexation petition)live in or are Santaquin residents. Come on Santaquin residents. You are letting developers who have no objective but monetary gain control your city. It doesn't hurt when the Mayor is a developer/contractor as well to get a petition approved.
