They sound like real Utah Men. I'm sure they'll fit in great.

Nice pickups... | 5:19 p.m. June 3, 2009
by the Utes. Getting the kids from Texas and Cali is the way to stay in the BCS hunt yearly.

Good work Whit.

Congratulations, Utes. I hope you have a great recruiting year. Let the Holy Wars begin.

I know it was a toss up between becoming an Aggie or Utah and Utah won out!
Lovin' it | 9:27 p.m. June 3, 2009
Congratulations to Coach Whit and his staff for more impressive recruits! I can't wait to see them in action.
"Stay in the BCS hunt yearly" | 7:19 a.m. June 4, 2009
There's a real kool aid drinker. The utes next year (which would be yearly) will be lucky to be in the "hunt" for six wins.
re: 7:19AM | 8:17 a.m. June 4, 2009
BCS trips - Utah 2, BYU 0
BCS wins - Utah 2, BYU 0
Undefeated seasson (In last 25 years) - Utah 2, BYU 0

I believe there are something like 5 programs with at least 2 BCS trips. Utah is one of them. BYU is right behind Hawaii, Wake Forest and Boise State in a group with 0.

Good, but never great. Bronco's new calling.
BCS Payday | 8:37 a.m. June 4, 2009
We all thought that the big payday from being in the SECOND BCS game was the millions of dollars paid to the university. The big pay day is when recruits starting talking about wins over ALABAMA as the reason they are choosing your school. The pundits said the BCS doesn't have an effect on recruiting.

Lets see...should I pick the team with 2 BCS wins and 2 undefeated season with wins over Alabama, Louisville, Michigan......or should I pick the other MWC team that has made a second home in Vegas with losses to teams like Arizona?????? Tough choice???? Hardly!!
Go Utes | 9:18 a.m. June 4, 2009
Who am I sir a BCS man am I!

BYU just got their last good recruit maybe. And it was only because he was LDS and his parents were probably BYU alums.
nice | 11:00 a.m. June 5, 2009
that running back had over 1500 yards. great news. i'll take 4 texas kids over one good qb any day. keep it up whit, you're doing a great job. another bcs bowl and a national championship are on their way.
No comparison | 8:38 p.m. June 6, 2009
The cougs recruiting week killed the utes ant that will show over then next four years with wins for BYU. The ute bcs hopes are all in the past. The future is BLUE!
From Austin, | 8:44 p.m. June 6, 2009
and not playing for UT. Something smells funny here!
Utah Mann | 11:01 a.m. June 7, 2009
What...the Utes pick up 4 recruits and no press conference???

The Utes will save all the hype for after the season, after they win the conference and have a shot at yet another BCS game. We will let the Y? have press confrences (in SLC)...with high school juniors who are making claims of a NC. HA HA HA. REDICULOUS COUGS.

Great job recruiting Texas Morgan Scalley, keep it up!!

GO UTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheHailstorm | 12:28 p.m. June 7, 2009
All of the new recruits here in Utah can only benefit all of the teams. The MWC will be much better off as the competition grows. I can see several very good Bowl games these next few years in he MWC. Utah should win their 9th, in a row and maybe even YBU can muster more than one or two. Should be some great college football in our future within State !
Re: "Stay in the BCS hunt yearly | 12:52 p.m. June 7, 2009
I suppose that comment is what has become known as a "BYU future fact." I will be back on this board in week 7 of the college football season to assess how accurate your "facts" are.

Give the crystal ball a rest, buddy.

Let's see...Utah was already in two BCS bowl games, and was in the running for another the season before we put the smack down on Pitt. So that would be 3 of the last six seasons? I'd say that qualifies as staying "in the BCS hun yearly" wouldn't you? Oh, wait, I guss techinically that would be in the BCS hunt every OTHER year. When was BYU in a BCS hunt? Right, when that guy Staley broke his leg (Tib or Fib, not sure). And even then they got a letter saying they weren't getting in. Gotta be a Ute to get the invite. So, good luck with the new recruits. I'll take our 6 ft. 2 inch safeties pickin of your #1 qb's passes in 2011, 2012, and into the future.
BYU always out recruits... | 11:00 a.m. June 8, 2009
on paper.

What does it say when Utah takes the kids nobody thinks is good enough and turns them into a BCS Bowl winning team with two undefeated seasons?

What does it say when BYU recruits the so called #1 QB recruit in the nation.. twice. And can't get it done?

Besides what good is adding to the offense when your defense is like a sponge.
Ute smack is embarrassing | 6:59 a.m. June 9, 2009
There's a pretty good reason these recruits didn't hold a press conference...nobody has ever heard of them. All the smack about winning two BCS bowls in the last six years only makes Utah's failure to even come close to BYU's recruiting effort this year that much more pathetic. What you should be saying is, "after kicking Alabama's trash last season, what's wrong with our recruiting effort that has let so many good recruits go to our rival?" At the end of the day a bunch of two and three star recruits can beat a team full of four and five star recruits and Utah has so few commits that it's hard to tell how their recruiting class will shape up anyway, but saying we'll see who wins on the field after BYU beat Utah two of the last three seasons is a little ridiculous. Any reasonable Utah fan can acknowledge that after this rebuilding year, it will likely be three out of four years. But I'm sure at the end of the season you'll all still be spouting off about your BCS victories to feel secure in your failure.
Yewts are still 2nd best to BYU | 7:30 a.m. June 9, 2009
Let's see- BYU gets 3 great recruits and uofu gets 3 so-so kids from Texas that the Texas schools ddn't want. I guess this is progress for the yewt program. Yewts suck! Yewts suck! Yewts suck!
Prediction:
BYU 41 utah 20
RE: Yewts are still 2nd best to | 9:23 a.m. June 9, 2009
BYU has always had one amazing public relations departments. But in my view the zoobs can win all the press conferences you want, but the Utes will take the wins on the field to go along with two BCS appearances. It was glaringly obvious last year that BYU is a distant third in the conference when it comes to putting athletes on the field, so it's going to take a lot of big "press conference" signings to make the zoobs markedly better where it counts.
re: Smack | 10:38 a.m. June 9, 2009
Ute Failure = 2 BCS trips, 2 BCS victories. 6-4 versus mighty BYU in last 10. 3 solo, 1 shared MWC title, same as the mighty Cougars. Longest win streak in the nation. Longest bowl winning streak in the nation.

BYU Failure = No BCS trips. 4-6 versus "failure" Utes in last 10. Same success on a MWC level as the "failure" Utes. Proclaimed themselves the BCS Busters and failed to achieve "Perfection" while getting destroyed by Utah, TCU and mediocre Arizona. Slow, unathletic defense gave up tons of points to Washington, UNLV & CSU. Cannot win big games, 1-25 versus ranked opponents.

Sorry, but getting a couple of good ole LDS kids to commit to the school funded by the LDS church does not change facts.

Prediction: Considering the Utes have won 6 of the last 8 games in Provo, and that the only Cougar victories over the Utes in that stretch of games have been nail-biters, your "Prediction" is really a pipe dream. But then again, that is most of the BYU fanbase, not just you.

Prediction: Slow, unathletic defense, new O-line, worse WR's, same old Maxie = Long season for TDS.

I like the way Coach Whitt always tries to keep things under the radar as much as possible. Where as the Y-ners always and I mean always, over-hype everything because they are so insecure. This new QB for YBU will fit in great if he is already predicting a NC. The TDS is setting themselves up for a HUGE letdown. Keep things low profile such as Coach Whitt does. Then the teams you play won't know what hit them just as Alabama. Can't wait for the season to start. Go UTES!!!!!
A UTAH MAN AM I | 9:18 p.m. June 9, 2009
I love this rivalry! GO UTES!
Actions speak louder than words | 10:51 p.m. June 9, 2009
The BYU football program has way too much pride and puts way too much pressure and PR on itself. Let your game and play on the field speak volumes...not your mouth! Utah did what they had to do without talking trash and backed up on the field. I sense a little jealousy from the University of BYU and its football program toward Utah because of the enormous amount of success they have had in the last five years.
utwingnut | 9:24 a.m. June 19, 2009
Great! Three more fat slow white guys playing for Utah. They'll be starters next year for sure.

Amen Brother. Amen.
Crow! Crow! | 4:10 p.m. June 22, 2009
I am glad Utah got a couple of recruits from Texas and it make them happy. I wonder if they know that these recruits are available because Texas, Texas Tech and T.C.U. got better ones?
ALL "Smack" Is Embarrassing | 4:13 p.m. June 22, 2009
Only those who truly need to get a life think trading insults over BYU/Utah all year is more important than anything REAL and RELEVANT that's happening in the world? But then again, I'm just a Pac-10 fan, where we play REAL basketball--won't claim football in this forum after last season. Apparently I wouldn't understand. Not even USC/UCLA is like this. Holy cow, people.
