Spot on

Great article James. I couldn't agree with you more. We need a few more articles like this about a few other players as well. The players need a good wake up call from the fans. We expect more!

"Like toddlers, they're being sent to timeout by the league for not playing nice." Classic.

there is also the consideration that Morales, was largely unknown last year and thus did not receive much attention from opposing teams, whereas this season he has been targeted, making his job a lot harder.

Anonymous you are right that his job is a little bit harder now, however that doesn't excuse his lack of effort. I loved Javi from last year, but this year he plays like he should be on Chivas or the Rappids (ie. hardly try, fake injuries, play dirty, argue with the ref over everything, blame everyone else, etc)

True

Excuses aside - an attacking midfielder is not even par with his peers with Morales' stats. He may receive more attention from teams - but many other players are in the same situation and are able to reinvent their game and make an impact. I haven't seen Morales be nearly the type of player that he was last year. Also we need to make sure the offense goes through him more than it goes through Wingert or Russell.. All these guys do is boot it and make highly unlikely passes to our forwards... It is elementary school soccer.... Take a lesson from reigning clubs like Barca and get back to what we have been good at - passing the ball efficiently and effectively - PUHLEASE - I'm an avid RSL fan and will see them through anything but it honestly is pretty painful to watch.

Ryan

Beckerman has been equally unlike himself (read: terrible) of late. Hopefully a game off with help him, as well.

We can only hope that their respective replacements have outstanding games in their stead, and really put the pressure on them to perform.

My only hope is that the tank job is intentional to get Kreis fired, and that it happens soon before the season is completely lost. And we're not even halfway through.

You dont get it!

Javier is being rendered ineffective because Cleetus is on the field and cannibalising his role. It is no surprise that the Jason Kreis favorite "son" has done some good things this year in terms of assists, but he is totally wrecking the play of Morales! Morales is not free to move the way he would like with Cleetus on the field!

If you had to ask me right now who I would take, I would pick Mathis over Morales. You should learn to play with the players on your team.

Chadders

No you don't get it. Last week Clint sat and Javi had probably his worst game of the year. He was killed on both ends of the field. Mathis has been busting his hump, Morales not so much. I would love to see Clint play in Javi's normal spot this weekend because he would destroy the cRappids. Just face it already Javi is not having a good year. We really need him to turn it around or else we need to trade him.

HAHA

The Cleetus hater posting at 2:10PM must be joking. Really.

Javi

Players have been much more physical with Javi this year and he's wimped out. RSL need to possess the ball (as mentioned above Barca style).

Easy

I know Morales has been lackluster, but the after getting this far into the season, teams are focusing on him. Two defenders are draped on him at all times and are willing to let someone else on RSL beat them. Well, no one has. Johnson has been ineffective at best, Mathis was solid in the first 5-6 games and Beckerman has been awful. Anyway, if Morales got any support this may be a different story.

Saturday

Saturday is a big game. Morales and Beckerman have not been playing well and this is an opportunity for someone else to step up and turn this team around. I hope Williams gets the start. It would be nice to see him have a positive with everything his family is dealing with. We know he has the skills to be the best player on the field I just hope that if he does start he comes out with fire and determination to prove that he should be starting.
