wRRRRRRRRRong!

I can't believe Vernal didn't get the top spot in the country. They've got Dinosaurs. That pretty much trumps EVERYTHING!!!!

(No, I'm not five years old... but let's face it, the population of five year olds all agree with me.)

JJ

Yet the cavemen of Kanab would do anything they could do destroy that which makes their area so great

yiiiihaaaw

I can't belive Blanding didn't make...the best kept secret north of the san juan!!

Other list

A Colorado outdoors magazine listed Kanab as one of the top right-wingnut places in the country, so you might want to consider that before moving there.

We drive through Kanab on our way to the Grand Canyon from Idaho. Kanab is quite a quaint little place. We like it a lot. It looks like it would be a great place to live as well.

Ed Meyer

I live in Kanab and am glad there are some people who enjoy visiting here. It's a nice place with tremendous outdoor resouces. I'm now sure I agree with being placed down the list from Rawlins, but expect the folks up there are appreciative as well.

TK

With dozens of places to go within a half hour, Kanab is a lock for a top spot for outdoor activities. However, I would have to move it well down the list when taking "schools and good-paying jobs" into the equation. No offense Kanab, bu tourism and making stamps are all you have left.

Me Myself and I

Having lived in Cedar City for the past 10 years I have to scratch my head and wonder how it made this list while neither Blanding or Monticello did. I'll concede that hunting may be equal for certain animals such as deer and antelope, but fishing in Cedar City is a joke. The closest places to find good fishing are 40+ miles outside of Cedar City. Before someone gets their feathers in a ruffle and says "Navajo is only..." I'll say Navajo Resivior is about as pathetic a fishing spot as you can find. With world class elk, deer, big horn, and predetor hunting and plenty of good fisihing at one of many ponds or resiviors within minutes of town Blanding should definitely have been on the list before Cedar City. I guess if having a McDonalds is a deciding factor then I'll concede as all the places listed has a "Dirty Ron's". Just let me know when Hamburglar season opens up.

These lists are useless

Ever notice how a brand-new list is produced every year?

What happened to last year's "best"? Were they wiped out by a sudden influx of sportsmen?

Were last year's bests found to be lies, so a brand-new set of towns sprung up? Wait....

Frankly, I think they do this, so people in those towns will be flattered into buying subscriptions.

At least we now know what Kanabians can do with their full quivers!

Wendy

In my opinion, Kanab is a smaller version of St George and needs more development. We are thinking of buying some property down there. It could be a wonderful place live.

Kanab also has the Animal Sanctuary there which is a big plus and very well needed.

BH

Oh, Please no one listen to Wendy's advice that Kanab needs to be developed more into a place like St. George.

That is the last thing we need is more development of wonderful small towns in Utah, into large, expensive, commercialized cities that are good for nothing but tourism and a winter haven for spoiled retired folks.

What St. George was 35 years ago, many of these places such as Kanab still have. do not take it away from these other great places.

The trophy trout in Kanab Creek?

Cowboy

Kanab has some great water holes for swimming. Kanab rules man, deseret snake and all.

I'm Sure Glad...

where I live wasn't on there. I guess we're still a secret. At least for now.

Mormon Pioneer Town

I think Kanab needs to remain the old west. LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!!!! We like the peace and quite here.

Nark

Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahh, Gotta love Ktown made the list, albeit, my vote would be #1, because no other town in the country has a cliff jumping, skinny dipping, zipline hangin swim-hole like 3Lakes. What memories, oh yeah, and the 14 straight days I went fishing in 14 different spots around Kanab and didn't catch anything. But that was probably because of my year-old PowerBait that I was using, and not the many beautiful oppurtunistic spots to try your tackle on. Truly a joyful spot to grow up in, but I must agree with the #12 ranking because I would move back in a heartbeat if there were many jobs available. Don't turn it into St. George, and don't let the Best-friender liberals shut down all the roads and hikings spots.

Kanab is beautiful. I met some nice Mormon people who live there who told me some interesting pioneer stories.

Pitiful

I am shocked any town from Utah or anywhere in the USA made the list! There isn't anywhere in the USA that should be on that list. While there are many great spots to hunt, fish, take pictures, ride ATV and motorcycles, take vacations and do research. We don't want people thinking we have something worth visiting. Out of sight is out of mind! We already have mindless, mental midgets from the administration stealing our land and ruining our resources, through lies and deceit! They are trying to ruin Utah's economy, steal water and stealing Utahn's rights! Keep Utah and every other beautiful state off these list, so we can protect our lands, resourses and our state!
