There sare only two more paragraphs when you click the link

Crews arrived and transported the man and his finger to a nearby hospital, where it was hoped the finger could be reattached.

"It's a big canning operation," Cullimore said. "There's a lot of machinery, things on rollers, it (would be) pretty easy to get your finger caught on something."

Blessings brother. Thank you for your service in the Bishop's Storehouse. It's never good to have an accident of any kind (I know it myself 'cause some time ago I had an accident that cost me the dexterity of my left hand), it's good to have had the accident while providing service that will bless pleople you don't know and whose lives will improve because your volunteer service.
May the Lord bless you and speed up your recovery.

They let untrained volunteers do this stuff and you can expect low quality, inefficiency, and accidents like this. Mormons brag about having an "unpaid ministry", but that is a lie. The General Authorities and even Mission Presidents get a "stipend", which is just another name for a paycheck. At the highest levels (Prophet and Apostles), this "stipend" is very generous - about three times what I make.

But beyond the lie of an unpaid ministry, at the lower levels, in the Wards and Stakes, where all the untrained, bumbling volunteers "serve", it is really nothing to BRAG about! The incompetence at those levels is astounding!

I love the guts of "Anonymous", it just shows his intelligence. A "Stipend" is only paid to those who haven't made enough to support themselves when chosen to be a "General Authority" and it isn't a great deal, other paid church employees in supervisor positions can and do make more than them. These "Untrained" bumbling volunteers "serve" to feed the poor and needy! They do it out of love, and I am sure he didn't follow the directions he was given to a "T". I have worked in these places and you are given very specific instructions by TRAINED workers missionaries and employees who run the cannery. It isn't anything to brag about because we quietly serve others, that is why we really don't BAND STAND it the way it could be. The Church helps more people than you have a clue about, pays for shipping, the raw matterials and packaging all out of love as the Savior would have us do.

Personally I feel sorry for you, because you can complain and hate us as much as you want, but the truth is, when you need us, we'll still be there for YOU!

Wow!, Anonymous 12:22 pm, got any other axes to grind, soapboxes to stand on or unexpressed rage to vent?

Not sure how you manage to function knowing that you are forced to breathe the same air as Mormons...

Wishing a speedy and effective recovery to the good man who was only trying to help others.

Anonymous | 12:22 p.m. May 30, 2009:

Just so you know, anonymous, years ago when I was at school at BYU, my wife and I met Pres. Eyring (an apostle at the time) and his wife in the parking lot of TJ Maxx. In case you don't know, TJ Maxx is where you go to get a deal on marked down items. He wore a suit that wasn't exactly haute couture. You wanna know something else? If my memory serves me correctly, he was driving a plain jane american car.

We are talking here about an apostle of the "upper eschalons of the LDS empire" who, according to you, is supposedly is living high on the hog on the backs of the tithe payer, and he was shopping for a deal in a sedan with no driver.

Just so you know, he is one of the kindest men I have ever met. By the way, he approached me to shake his hand, not me to him.

Well, you can belly-ache and whine, or you can step up and do it better. I can imagine that you are much more "competent" than those you chose to criticize, so what's it going to be?

Put up, or shut up.

I cannot wait to hear the faith promoting story around this one. It should be good.

Whats the big deal? "Competent" people are injured every day while working at their jobs. Most of the time there is a cause attributed to a careless action and sometimes not. It is unfortunate that this injury occurred and someone is suffering. Our good Lord has a wonderful track record for turning the negatives in life into positives. Bless this man for his service! All I know is the blame game doesn't fix an amputated finger, but selfless service repairs the soul.

Life just would not be the same with out our dear friend named................Anonymous.Sometimes I just look around to see what silliness he/she has on the mind today.
I have had my share of working in the cannary in my area. I loved it and wish we still did it but the assignment was taken away from this area.Giving service is something that people who refuse to do it just dont understand. My active LDS wife is one who does not like to serve. For me I think its great.
There are alot of church employeess who make a good income and then there are many who simply dont make those big bucks..My former brother in law has a cush job with the church in Latin America. Thanks for the note on President Eyring. He is one of the best.

It is amazing to see how ridiculous you anti-mormons are. If you don't like us just leave us alone. We are not taking anything from you. Every time I read a comment from any of you, it just makes me laugh because of your lack of intelligence.
