I have been wondering for a year or so when our latter day Moroni was going come forth and fly the flag of liberty. Watching Glenn Beck one day, the thought came, "Beck is our Moroni."

Thank God he is a conservative. Just not as conservative as I would like. The reason is if we take a step back and observe history we will find that we have allowed every single plank from the "Communist Manefesto" to become run by the Federal Government ie; the issuance of money, education state run to control content, Federal income tax, regulation of the free market, etc. etc. etc.

So I ask you to really look back to the history of Greece, Rome and others and tell me what is different? I would contend NOTHING except the new toys and quicker reponse time to engage in war.

We still have greed, corruption, cronyism, tyranny, and here people still think that we have a Democracy. NO this is a REPUBLIC. Why to protect the rights of the minority.

Government ought not be in the buisness of violating the very laws that restrain it from engaging in mischeif, THE US CONSTITUTION.

I wonder why Glenn Beck promotes a book like the "5000 Year Leap" and then can disagree with Congressman Ron Paul? FISHY.

I think it's a fantastic thing to consider that Harry Reid, Orrin Hatch, and Glenn Beck could all sit in the same room together on Sunday, partake of the emblems of the Lord's flesh and blood and bear witness that Jesus is the Christ, the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith is a prophet. And each one of them would be agreed in one on those principles.

In the end, those are the things that count. In heaven, nobody's going to be a Democrat or a Republican.

It concerns me that so many members listen to hate speech from the likes of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, etc. Their message is antithetical to the Gospel. They attempt to sow fear, hatred and dissatisfaction. People like to have their own prejudices massaged, and that is what they get from these "talk" show hosts. Beck wants the "Red States" to secede. He and Limbaugh hope the President fails. And Limbaugh says he won't stop until everyone thinks the way he does. Harry Reid is a good and decent man. You members who support this hatred need to study and ponder the 12th and 13th Articles of Faith. If you don't want to share now, how are you ever going to keep the law of consecration? What you need is eternal perspective, something Beck obviously doesn't have. I also can't believe we share the same church.

Glenn Beck is a fool, a bigot, an agent provocateur and completely out of touch with reality. Having said that I do want to say one thing; while I do not understand or condone his ideology or the things he spews I do recognize him as one of my brethren in the church. I am a life long member of The Church and while I understand that many members are conservative I have no idea how or why anyone would listen to this man let alone follow anything he might say or advise. He strikes me as an opportunist and a hypocrite...but I suppose the job pays well when one works for the great anti-american network Fox News.

What "hate speech" are you referring to? He simply states what he believes regarding our country's political mess and gives examples to back it up. That's just telling it like it is from his point of view. As for extremes, their are many many AMERICANS who are extreme. Unfortunately, some of them do come to the same church as me. I take comfort in knowing at some point, they will no longer. For now, I remind my children that they need only worry about themselves and their own behavior and relationship with the Lord. Beck is fine. Hate speech encourages people to commit crime against their neighbor. Glenn encourages people to take LAWFUL action. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!

I sure read a lot of hate comments from the people who don't like or agree with Glenn Beck. For all of you, "What WOULD Jesus do?" Glenn is a passionate guy who also happens to be a passionate Mormon. I have no problem with him or his talk show. In fact I enjoy it, even if I may have a different opinion from time to time. Anyway, who are all these Mormons who can't stand him? That's not very Christ Like. I can't stand Harry Reeds politics, but that doesn't make me hate the man or question his religious beliefs.
If you read this Glenn, I thank you for what you are doing, and I would ask you to keep it up. Your are doing a great job and I would love to know you as a friend.

I love how the left refers to anyone who disagrees with their views as "hate mongers" or "hate speech". Many of you say Beck plays on fears. What do you think Obama and his party did. The liberal media continues to play on fears; global warming, and class warfare, etc. We are spending trillions of dollars which will bankrupt the country unless hyper inflation rears its ugly head to get us out. Beck states the obvious, we will go broke as a nation with all the deficit spending unless we wake up and do something. We are on our way to socialism and those of you who choose to follow this brave new government will equally suffer the consequence. Hate speech is a two way street. You enlightened and tolerant people who pat yourselves on the back for your 'wisdom' are very intolerant and sarcastic of those who have opposing views. Remember, the brilliance of a two party system keeps us from Tierney and oppression. You would eliminate any speech that you deem hate and only listen to the enlightened ones. Chairman Mao began a similar revolution.

There was a study proving conservatives are courage challenged. Calling conservatives cowards would adversely effect conservative's self esteem. We can't have that.

Conservatives figure terrorist will rat out anyone after torture because they would. They can't fathom, being so committed to a cause you would give your life.

Look at Utah. Utah conservatives can't walk through intercity Manti without packing a 40 caliber pistol. God forbid driving through Kamas unarmed.

Really, Beck is so like you. The biggest joke is you fail to see how this really makes you look.

I'm a liberal veteran who has hung from a single strand of 11 mm rope hundreds of feed above the floor of Yosemite Valley. I have hiked the Maze. I've driven to the most remote places in Utah solo with no one knowing where I was.

I've driven through East LA, Oakland, Bay View and Richmond unarmed. I've stooped at stores in the meanest part of Stockton navigating pass drug dealers to get in and out of my truck. I was the only white around.

Too me, conservatives scare easy.

I know Beck is a Mormon, but most of what I have heard him say is far too intemperate and arrogant to come from the mouth of any Christian, Mormon or not.

Beck produces heat without light, smoke without direction, obfuscation without balance, and panders to what is low, mean, and hateful in American politics.

It would not be too difficult to accept that Beck is a clone of Rush 'Anger-Unmanaged' Limbaugh, because neither of them deal with issues or analyse policies, instead they dole out pathetic opinions based on their own fears but vagrant on account of their having no visible means of support.

Religious Beck is most often humble, sensitive, caring, and, at times, moving.

But where does Religious Beck go when he has to make way for Political Beck, the hatchet man, the blow hard, the mangler of ideas, the insensitive, arrogant, uncaring, and demeaning.

Can these two personalities be reconciled in one person?

Not without a diagnosis that something is wrong with the inner workings of the Janus-faced and double-minded man.

Although he deserves our sympathy, he deserves also to become an honest and capable commentator on the US political scene.

Colin Powell is right. More moderation is needed for the Republican party to make a comeback on the national scene. To: LDS Girl - I too, found his choice of slang offensive and it does reflect on all latter-day saints. He means well, and I think he just gets caught up in the moment but that is still not reason for profanity and using "Jesus'" name on television news. I don't think it would be in Glenn's best economic interest to be a Mormon if he was "mormon in name only." I think he sincerely believes in the principles from the 5000 Year Leap, which makes him 10x better than principle free politicians. His disagreements with Ron Paul stem partially from foreign policy, which is why some people still think Glenn is part of the Republican machine/establishment.

I try to watch Glenn Beck everyday. He comes on at a bad time 3 clock MST I am surprised his ratings are so high. He needs to be given a prime time slot If you want to really see his rating's sore. Good grief, get off the leftwing talking points and think a little. I am an independent and have occasionally listened to Beck. I find nothing in his show that is hateful, and most of the time he is rather funny. Sure, he pokes fun of public officials and can be a bit of an alarmist, but so what? Beck isn't any more of a hatemonger than Jon Stewart and company (who are admittedly very funny). Get off your self-righteous bandwagons. You are the ones who are guilty of hate speech.

Glen Beck is a breath of fresh aire for the world, nation and especially Utah. He has toned down his language on the air over the last 5 years as he has become who he is today (conversion process right before our eyes which is great). Glen backs up everything he says with facts or experts in the field. check the facts. George Steponallofus has gone from Clinton lesberalism to a more conservative stance. Liberalism is a mental disorder. Conservativism has been the hallmark of this country's growth since 2000 B.C. and beyond. those who don't keep God's commandments ultimately fail or get destroyed.

Unfortunately for the church, Glenn Beck's demagoguery and emotionalism give the impression that all of us LDS are also this way. Beck is not a trained political scientist, economist, historian, or philosopher. He simply broadcasts poorly formed and usually wrongheaded opinions that get picked up by those who think the same way and also do little intellectual work.

It really is a shame that he and the church are perceived the same way by others who are unaware of the true depth and values of LDS thinking and teachings.

I like Glen, i like his funny laugh and his bold "in your face" style. I think Glen is sounding the warning voice of what lies ahead of this nation if we do no quickly change course and get the runaway spending under control.
