It beats working, since job opportunity is so limited, and their parents can't afford to send them on a trip to Europe this year. Then of course as mentioned there are many also out of work and wanting to improve their skills.

Since so many of the summer time jobs are given away at depressed wages to legal and illegal immigrants, there is really no better place for unskilled workers than college. Besides many of the younger folks find manual and unskilled labor too distasteful for them as well as beneath their dignity.

Yes to free parking!

Why don't all colleges and universities have free parking during the summer? The parking lots are almost empty during the summer.

Is this a scam or what?

BYU

BYU has free parking year round. In the spring and summer the parking situation is fantastic.

Why

is SLCC laying off teachers if their enrollment is going up so fast? They should be hiring teachers so our kids can get the education they need.

Scott Fineshriber

Unfortunately, SLCC has had to suffer significant funding cut-backs and, like the rest of us, is having to do more with less. I'm sure the college would love to hire more teachers if they could.
