not as bad as "family guy"
as least "king of the hill" had a moral value.. of sorts..and it was funny
The writer missed the whole point of the show dissing religion. The point is not to disrespect religion, but to point out how crazy the other side looks when they do it.
This so-called entertainment program is doomed to failure. Its attacks on marriage, religion, and family will not be tolerated by the public. If Hollywood desires to help society, rather than hurt it, then Hollywood must produce programs that promote positive values.
This show is King of the Hill after it's been thoroughly masticated, partially digested, and vomited up by ABC executives trying to get something to compete with Fox. And in typical ABC fashion, it fails miserably. I wanted to throw up a little myself after viewing the pilot.
This show is making fun of Liberals, political correctness and Environmentalism. I think its great when you make you fun those things.
ABC has moved right looking for an audience. Fewer Americans are watching TV, which has moved the TV viewership curve to the right. Many of the liberals I talk to on the Left Coast will tell you, they turned off TV to escape the wasteland of broadcast TV.
There hypocrisy too. I've caught a few watching the Lakes Nuggets games. Us North Cal liberals love to hate LA. Denver has played an amazing game.
To our Kings: Go way from out city, leave at your own chosen speed. Your not the one we want, your not the one we need.
From the picture it looks like they are trying to make a bad attempt of ripping off "King of The Hill" :(
I watched the first episode I thought it was hilarious. They made fun of the environmentalist and the extreme religous folks, I thought they were fair.

You are way off my friend. It was funny. Making fun of the environmentalist wackos was classic.
I don't know if it will appeal to a wide audience, but the show is very clever.
i thought the show was hilarious and poke fun of all extremes. good job mr. judge!
Laugh out loud funny.
this show is horrible, with each cliche smelling of boardroom committees. i think b&b and koth worked because judge felt connected to those characters, poking fun at something he could relate to from his upbringing. but his portrayals of "liberals" (who are conservatives by all means) always come from a point of alienation, without sympathy - which is why they are so unsympathetic to all. in an abc trailer, judge said something like, "the characters are relatable - WE see THEM everywhere." the "us and them" was clear, and that's why the jokes fall flat - like they googled "crazy liberal antics" and just plugged essoteric keywords into standard sitcom hack. the fact that EVERY character is only motivated by an egoistic desire for respect (except the retarded white south african son who operates sub-ego, but brainwashed) shows that the "politics" in this show are filtered through the lens of standard politically apathetic and anti-anything-socialist dominant US culture. no surprise. it's on tv. normal tv. abc. i think b&b was brilliant social satire from the heart. but the goode family is (was! yay!) boardroom schlock. note to judge: write what you know. a budget wasted.
