A professional boxer vs a 4-month old baby! Of course it was reckless endangerment! No one made him do this. Babies cry -- sometimes incessantly. It makes you crazy -- but you don't punch them out once, let alone twice. You walk away. You let someone else handle it. You let them cry. You don't cause physical harm. It's tragic that he let his emotions get the better of him. As parents, it's our job to keep our emotions in check as hard as that may be.

Your Kidding me? Why is there any question as to the law in this case? A former Boxer killed his baby, because the baby was crying? Babies cry, all babies! He should be punished to the full extent of the law. He is still alive, and his baby girl is dead due to his own actions!

A defense counsel -- apparently with a straight face -- blames the crying baby for the assault. Reduction to manslaughter requires sudden heat of passion caused by "adequate provocation."

A baby that's crying is doing so to provoke Dad?

Good luck with that one.

... "reckless indifference to human life", when an adult - an adult "boxer" no less - TWICE punches a helpless infant, then just what is?

He should be sentenced to the same death as his poor child. Punched in the face until he draws his last breath.

...but wouldn't the fact that the infant relies upon the adult for its very life and the adult is in a special relationship of trust to the infant and has power over it be enough of an aggravating factor to justify the charge? First 4 commentators have it right.
