as unamerican as these lawmakers may perceive Che to be, do they feel that limiting free speech is more American?

JOE

It is fitting that we demand the removal of statue that honors a vicious dictator who murder and tortured. Che's legacy is appropriately placed in the dump along with other despots.

Greg

Che Guevara was a brutal fascist and a murderer. Shame upon all who give honor to him or his likeness.

Hooboy

Joe, buddy, Che was never a dictator, vicious or otherwise. He was a revolutionary, like our American revolutionary forefathers who used methods reviled as unacceptable by his enemies, same as our forefathers did. If you are going after those who "murdered and tortured", aren't you hitting a little too close to our last president?

Viva Che!

funny how they write this letter of protest letter 3 days before it is due to be taken down anyway. Where were they several months ago? an even better questions is since they waited so long why did they not take that time to find out what it really was about.

Cosmo

Che was no more akin to our "Founding Fathers", than Hitler is to "Joan of Arc". He was a murderous,
vicious thug, and personally took pleasure in the brutal exacution of many people. Please take time to read actual history, and no base you knowlege on a T-shirt, with the image of a thug.

Great quote ...

"At the risk of seeming ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love. It is impossible to think of a genuine revolutionary lacking this quality ... We must strive every day so that this love of living humanity will be transformed into actual deeds, into acts that serve as examples, as a moving force." --- CHE GUEVARA

Some reality ...

The recent (October 2008) UN vote, 185-3 in favor of the USA lifting its blockade against Cuba, demonstrates that its the US government, not Cuba, thats flying in the face of world opinion.

The world loves Cuba, and admires Fidel & Che - as do I.
