HOw sick are those to ADULTs. If you don't want your child put it up for ADOPTION!!!! hello there are sooo many women out there that can't have children and would of taken such good care of her child if she didn't want it. I don't know what is wrong with so many humans these days but stop being so damn selfish and do what is right. There was no reason to harm a baby that didn't have a choice to be brought into this world at least you can give it to someone that would of loved and taken care of it. I hope that they didn't kill if She needs to watched 24/7 and that baby needs to be taken away when she gives birth. SHe needs mental help also.

I've never been able to understand how it is okay for a doctor to destroy a fetus at anytime prior to it clearing the uterus but if someone else does it they are charged with a homicide. The law is a hypocrite on this issue. No way do I condone what these two have done, and I believe both are equally guilty in their attempt to kill the fetus. Both should be charged with the attempted homicide, but they should take the law's hypocrisy to the Supreme Court and let them clean up the mess they have created. If they are guilty as charged then so is any doctor that does a procedure that ends in the same result.

If the baby had died it would have been murder, but an abortion is OK.
Don't tell me it has to do with the term of the pregnancy, a fetus is a fetus and dead is dead.

Right now on our ravaged planet, there are around twenty thousand children starving to death each and every day.
Right now on our overpopulated planet, there are around thirty thousand more children who are dying because of no medical care, our inadequate care.

Why dont you abortion conscious freaks solve the existing problems facing living children first, and then go beat your silly drum about women getting an abortion.

In the first place, a fetus at any age is still a zygote. Without a host to feed it, it will die.

Let God be the judge of the women getting an abortion. She might be saving her own life, so she can take care of her existing living children. She might have been smoking crack during her pregnancy and knows the baby is severely deformed or retarded. Its her body, and her duty to do what is right. Not anyone elses.

Again, help the living right now, and stop with your silly act trying to play God.

I am absolutely blown away by how obsolutely ridiculous our laws are on this respect. Obviously these two are in the wrong and should be punished appropriately, but so should ANYONE who would try to kill a baby! What this case does is bring into sharp focus the flaws in the system. Of course no one should be allowed to commit murder, but ESPECIALLY not a doctor who has sworn to "Do no harm"! I hope this makes waves and people actually think with their brains about the kind of nonsense these laws are.

probably didn't have any idea that there are childless awesome couples out there who would be more than happy to pay all of her medical care expenses from conception till delivery if she agreed to give up the baby for adoption. I hope she gets the help she needs to let her know that there are safe options out there....

All of you that are berating abortion really need to do some research on it before you jump on the abortion is bad bandwagon that is so prevalent here in Utah. I can almost guarantee at least one woman that you run into everday has had an abortion.

And that makes it okay? Just because so many women have done it, then I'm supposed to say "Oh, nevermind, killing babies is fine."? Come on Manders, please take your own advice and do some research on the subject. You'll find that abortion is a completely unnecessary, selfish practice that, even if you don't care about babies, can easily cause deadly infections and infertility in women even under the best of circumstances. And to those who are going on about how sometimes the mother is raped or in mortal danger; these are less than 10% of cases of abortion. The VAST majority are women who are selfish and don't want to take responsibility for their actions. Even when that responsibility is as simple as giving the child up for adoption. They'd rather kill their own child then grow up and face responsibility. It is truly sad.
What this case demonstrates is that people get that it is murder when it's done outside a clinic. But when a doctor is doing the killing, then it is okay. Sad.

So, the solution to the thousands of dying children is to kill more children? Wow.

Our planet can support a whole lot more than we are currently letting it. The solution is to be smarter with our resources, not to murder our children.

Regarding your statement about how a baby needs to live off its mother before it's born, how is that any different than after it's born? How would you have done if your mother had dropped you on the side of the road the day you were born and told you to fend for yourself? Of course babies are dependent, before AND after birth.

Also, as to your attempt to dehumanize a baby by calling it a zygote at any stage, just thought I'd let you know that a fertilized egg is a zygote until it implants, then it is an embryo until 8 weeks when it becomes a fetus. They're just labels for an unborn baby, but I thought I'd set the record straight.

I love how this has been turned into an anti-abortion discussion, when the clear issue is sex-education. This young woman should not be pregnant in the first place. She is not only ill-equiped to handle a baby, but also a pregnancy. Now her life may very well be ruined.
Adoption is always the best way to deal with an unwanted pregancy. Clearly this young woman wasn't made aware of that. Very Sad!
