Good for you.
We had a guy go to jail for taking down a Mexican flag here, last year. That, after the folks who put the Mexican flag up, rehung the American flag upside down, in a symbol of distress, UNDER the Mexican flag.
If they like the Mexican flag so much, living in America and using our benefits, let them go back south where their flag is so loved.

Bob, you should stop and reflect on your reasoning. Who is this collective "they" that you speak of? For that matter, what's in a flag. When you really stop and think about it...identifiying behind green flags, or blue flags, or orange flags, seems kinda silly and arbitrary doesn't it? In fact symbols and group identity itself is a rather silly concept. No one picks their ethnicity. Ethnicity is pretty much a made up concept isn't it. What's the difference between an American and a Mexican or an Irishman or a German besides the fact that members of each group were told a different story about "who they are" by their parents and society when they're kids, and perhaps they speak a different language. You could've just as easily been born a Pakastani and you'd be just as likely judging and labeling all non-Pakistanis now couldn't you have. There's really nothing innate in ethnicity whatsoever now is there?
Not True | 6:42 p.m. May 23, 2009
First of all as one who has served this country more than once, in the U.S. Army, the flag is something men and women die for, we Love it, and if you are not moved when you see it, you are missing something. Anyone that comes to this country is required by law to respect the flag and not desecrate it, and if groups are dissatisfied with the way they are treated, there are correct avenues for appeal. You do not mistreat another countries flag and do not assume that Even though your "we are all the same" concept is true, it does not take away the respect due our great Nation, after all the Mexicans that appealed the flag issue came "here" did they not, and not Pakistan or Ireland or Germany. And in case you cannot read, the "they" are those who took down the U.S.A. flag and put up the Mexico flag and rehung the U.S.A. flag upside down. I hope you understand now.

Not sure what there is to argue about here. I'm not even sure why this is in the news. The headline sounded interesting, but the actual event sounds like a complete non-issue.

Not true:
I think your still missing the point, while proving mine in regurgitating beliefs and "truths" you've probably been spoon fed from a very young age, with your "us vs. them" group mentality thinking. I doesn't matter if the subject is ethnicity, nationality or whatever, group thought can infect any conversation...Rednecks vs, Urbanites, Mormons vs. protestants, Muslims vs. Jews, coke vs. pepsi drinkers, it doesn't matter the topic, there's always an artificial "us vs. them" distinction made. Nobody is born a member of any group. It's all made up, it's a big story we're told about "who we are". Your not anyone or anything at birth, and your ancestors actions have absolutely nothing to do with you, nothing, You can't take any credit for actions taken by someone else before you were even born. You would have had nothing to do with it. Get over phony group identification it only leads to problems in the long run.

One Country, One Flag! Why are they flying the flags of other countries any way? Remove all the non-American flags.
Hey Geedub | 10:50 p.m. May 23, 2009
The American Flag flies above all other here. We just like to recognize our heritage. Scandanavia. Go to your own town and do what you want there.

Notice how my last name is hispanic? My father is from Mexico City and my mother is of local pioneer stock from Manti, Ephraim's de facto sister city seven miles to the south. Utah and much of the west were once part of the nation of Mexico. Now, this may not seem to be an issue to some people, but the act of Ephraim City council is a direct slap in the face towards the local Latino population. Mexico ought to be represented if we truly value heritage, no matter what nation it comes from. Sidenote: Finland is not part of Scandinavia; Scandinavia is composed of peoples with similar language and cultural identities from Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

How about the Black Hawk Indian, and the Piute flag why are they not flown along with the other flags. One and all; or one and none.

I think you must have been born a liberal, lost, commune-thinker, I would also bet you were born after the wars that America fought to free your heritage. I guess if we all thought your way the Genealogy and caring about my heritage would be mute. But alas your thinking is so narrow-minded and simplistic that you cannot comprehend love of Family, Nation and of God. I am glad that I have not seen anyone else defend your ridiculous thinking. Go on thinking we are just one big happy family and after you big brother N. Korea drops a ICBM down your pants maybe you will realize we are not all the same.
