Police service area in Salt Lake County starting to take shape

Do away with this Unified Police idea and just have a Metro Police Department in the Salt Lake Valley. The Legislature needs to pass a law requiring it. Get rid of all of these "local" police departments and combine into one. Crime and criminals don't stay in one place. Boundaries mean nothing. All the local police departments are is revenue generating entities for their respective cities. The mayors want their private armies.

Case in point. 1900 West (next to Texas Road House) in Taylorsville is the road behind the Family Center at 5400 S. and Redwood road. The T-Ville police sit in a parking lot and give tickets to people who "run" the three way stop sign at about 5600 S. 1900 W. They give tickets to people who stop after the stop line, before the stop line, straddle the stop line. People stop but they still get tickets. There are a whole lot worse things happening in Taylorsville than people "running" stop signs behind a major shopping development. My experience is, everyone stops at those signs, just not complying with the letter of the law.
