So the Church will own KSL and this new religious station. One for the
political message and one for missionary work.

Considering everything there is to listen to on the radio I wouldn't think
we would need another station until I heard about this one, I will be sure to
listen. It will provide a great service to the many LDS who want to listen to
something uplifting throughout the day, traveling, or working. Thanks to the
Church for making it possible.

If I remember right, you don't have to listen to this, or KSL, but I
don't remember the chruch oficially owning KSL either.

To Anonymous @ 11:42. There is a world outside of your little world. We
don't get channel 5 or 1160 up here and I really appreciate getting to hear
things that will help me and my family. I travel a lot and HD radio is perfect
since there is so much out there that I just don't want to listen to. Now I
can enjoy what I like. My thanks to the Church for expanding its "Good
News".

Wow! When you want somebody's opinion you will give it to them? That line of thinking may work on your mormon youth, but you really shouldn't say things like that on a public forum. It just reinforces the stereotype of people in this area. If a church wants to have a radio station, good for them, if people want to voice their opinion about it, good or bad, then good for them.

I hope the internet station will allow us to get content at times other than
it's regularly scheduled time. I would really like to hear Music and the
Spoken Word but it normally plays at a time I can't tune in.

I personally am not going to listen to this radio station. But I have no problem
with it. I hope that it does very very well, then maybe all the Mormons will
listen to LDS radio and stop getting horrible ideas of what
"Conservatism" is from Sean Hannity.

Please don't tell us that you ACTUALLY believe that NPR is un-biassed and very objective. Please go out and buy yourself a "lick of sense" and realize that NPR is impressing pretty much every report with the liberal Democratic Party line. You can hear the opposite in Rush L and Hannity as well. But PLEASE!!! My goodness, it would be quite easy to diagram and outline the NPR reports and indicate with slant and inference the liberal line.

Yes, NPR is fair and unbiased. To really encounter liberal bias you need to
watch Free Speech TV or read the Nation. Hannity, Ruch & Beck are so far
right that NPR just looks unbalanced to you.

Isn't it great that we all have the freedom to tune in if we so desire and
tune out if we choose? Those of you who don't see any value in "Mormon
radio" are never obligated to listen. You can listen to a myriad of other
voices available to you, and no one will make you a target of disdain or bigoted
criticism or hatred. And since you don't support Mormon radio financially,
you needn't worry about paying for something you disagree with. Seems
pretty non-threatening to me. But something tells me all you detractors will be
unable to resist listening. Then one day you will hear something that really
touches you . . . then your life will begin to change . . . and pretty soon you
will be saying, "I never thought it would happen to me . . ."

I've been in broadcasting for over 30 years now, 29 on radio - and am
excited about this new station. As someone who does not live in the Salt Lake
area, I have been using BYU radio for some soothing listening, but this channel
addresses other areas that I am excited to be able to hear.
Great work! Much thanks to those are behind this. The first Conversations program hosted by Sister Dew is a wonderful chat with the Bednars. I'm hooked already.

It makes it so nice when you dont have any access to any hardly any lds media. I
was so excited to get it and have been listening since I got home from work and
found out about it. It sure beats the local stations that we have back here. Not
much of a selection back here. We cant get KSL and the stations here are very
limited and they dont really tickle my fancy. I am so glad that they have it. My
husband got tired of me trying to get KSL radio on my limited mp3 player on my
blackberry before we got the computer hooked up. This is such a cool station.
But than again, I dont live in Utah and it is a much welcomed station back here.

I hope some of the "LDS Lives" episodes can be adapted for radio.
Many of them are inspirational. Ditto for Channel 14's "The Joseph
Smith Papers" and Hartman Rector Junior's "On Sacred
Ground."

I'll agree that there is alot of flotsam and jetsam infecting the airwaves but enough about conservative AM talk radio and country music.
FWIW; Satellite radio is the way to go.

A Top rated station 96.5 KOIT-fm is a Bonneville station. Is this new
programming going to be available there. That station used to be the place for
the LDS Radio Network of about 10 years ago and before on the older SCA
subcarrier analog technology. San Francisco, one of the nation's largest
metropolitan areas, was not mentioned in the cities "line-up" in the
news story.
Hope that the San Francisco Bay Area again has opportunity for the New Generation of LDS programs.

The only type of person that would think NPR is fair and balanced is someone who
