JusticeJericho

If you are part of the solution why do you have to whine to the courts to get your way?

J.W. Hughes

Disappointing to hear this. I think I will cancel my Jazz season tickets just to protest the name and company. We have no proof this is safe for us and our family and citizens of the state.

What do.....

you expect? They need to keep paying the Jazz their dues for their name on the Arena.....LOL!!

stupid!

I am sick of Utah being the dumping grounds for other states, now we will be Italy's dumping ground too! As Utahns, we need to figure out how to stop this. If that means not going to the "Energy Solutions arena" I guess we will do that!
Isn't it funny...in Moab they are cleaning out waste and spending millions to do it, in Salt Lake (Tooele) a company is making millions by bringing in waste. GO FIGURE!!!

Nuclear Power is safe and the NRC will ensure of this. It is a cash crop for Utah. If I could, I would take the waste and burry it in my back yard for a healthy lifelong fee. This stuff is in NRC approved shipping and storage casks and has been technically certified to withstand plausible accident scenarios. Oh, and by the way, this stuff is "low level" - do your homework and don't sound silly!

Wake up people...

We are really in the "matrix" and we don't realize it. Politics, corruption and big money control our lives and we just keep living our as if nothing is wrong. Where are you Neo?

Naive

How many of you know of someone that was adversly affected by nuclear energy production and disposal in your lifetime?
What about coal production, how long ago did we hear of someone dying from coal production (Crandall ring a bell?)?
As you turn on your computer to write naive comments, keep in mind that it requires energy to run it. As we use vehicles with lots of batteries, they have to be charged. And don't forget all of the other convieniences you enjoy, like staying up late at night to write stupid comments...

Glow Baby Glow

Somebody check the bank account of this judge to see how much E.S. paid him.

Dave

The Fed Gov knows what is best for Utah. No drilling, just dumping.

The same tired arguments

My fellow environmentalists keep running the same tired arguments mindlessly.
The "stuff" causes fewer problems than the alternatives. Open your eyes.
Stupid!,12:24 a.m, it's not the same kind of waste!
And JusticeJericho, what are you saying, that the Northwest Compact is whining? No, they made their voice heard, did their job, and now we can MoveOn.

Jazz Tickets

J.W. I'll buy your Jazz tickets if they are reasonably good seats. How many seats, where are they located in the arena?
Let me know!!!

Boo

Boycott!

World's dump

I do not care if the garbage is radioactive or not, Utah should not become the world's dump. Our once beautiful state is getting filled with everyone else's garbage. The fact that the garbage is radioactive is just more reason to say no-thanks.

What we are really doing is selling our children's future for a mess of pottage!

Hippies Unite...

...and go somewhere else if you don't like ES.

Brian

I'm glad there are a few rational people on these threads. Nuclear energy/waste is NOT dangerous. It is clean, safe, and small compared to the Utah-produced waste that ends up elsewhere. Ever wonder how much pollution is sent unconstrained into the atmosphere by our very own coal plants?

re: hippies Unite

Abusers of God's creation unite and go to Outer Darkness where you belong.

YellowFly

Hippies Unite... Huh... and you are for Energy Solutions... makes sense. In reply to a statement made previously, there are plenty of people who have been affected negatively by waste, just ask anyone in southern Utah or Jim Matheson, our congressman. As far as nuclear power being safe... read up on your info good friend who made the statement. Nuclear energy is a method of the past and isn't going to be one in the future, it costs more than a lot of other safe and cleaner methods.

Sad day!

Energy Solutions...greed solutions.
Importing nuclear waste. What a waste for Utah. Sad day for all. I hope the state appeals and wins.

One question: if this low level radioactive waste is so safe and clean, why the need for the Italians to dump it here in Utah? Do they know something you don't?

T_H_R_O

It must be stopped. ES must be stopped.
