This was just awesome | 11:50 p.m. May 14, 2009
now that the passive pathetic Jazz are on vacation I have become a temporary (?) Rockets fan.

Kobe drove along the baseline toward the rim, little Aaron Brook put him on the floor and into the stands. When was the last time the Jazz actually fouled Kobe hard? When was the last time the Jazz defended Kobe?

Scola, and Landry destroyed the Laker front line. But Brooks cut thru them like butter. They simply could not stop him. You just watched in unbelief as Brooks carved them up like a thanksgiving turkey.

Someone needs to retire Sloan and his veteran bias. He does not have a playbook that can beat the Lakers. Adelman beats them 3 times without 2 stars and his back up C. Adelman can coach a playoff series. How does Adelman beat the big Laker front line with no C and no one over 6' 8" on the floor? How does Adelman beat the Lakers with a bunch of very young players (Brooks, Lowry, Landry, Scola) who have little or no playoff experience?

I hoped Sloan watched this series and learned something about developing and playing your younger players.

I hope HOU beat LA and then DEN.

you said it better than I ever could. Sickening is it not?

The "Fakers" have proved beatable. Further, the excuse is old and dying "they were not ready to play"

The fact is they took The Jazz lightly in the La games at Staples and we truly only threatened them late in that game 5.

I get so sick and tired of so many in this state that will not blame Jerry for anything, failed strategies and everything else.

We have better personnel than Houston excpet they have guys that like and play defense. Want a good article? Read The new SI this week and SHane Battier and strategy how they hold Kobe down..

Adelman Is incredible. Ironic, a former teammate of Sloan pleasing "his Loving Sloanaholics" led by Houdini.

Go Houston

Hey Spazz, | 7:59 a.m. May 15, 2009
That is what playing with heart is. I hope you watched and learned something. I still don't think the Rockets will win the series, the refs will make sure of that. Go Rockets!

My two favorite teams: The Utah Jazz and whoever is playing the Lakers that day!!! Its not so much Go Houston as it is Sit Down Kobe!!!

How nice would it be to be a Big Market team like L.A. and to know that in game seven you will get all the calls because the "Powers at Be" want you to move on? That would sure be nice..Being a Lakers fan must be about as easy as being a catholic!

And by the way, I 100% agree with Todd from Santa Ana and This was just awesome (above).
HOU | 9:58 a.m. May 15, 2009
is the 4th largest Metro area in the country. Dallas is 5th (4th if you throw in FTW). SA and the rest of TX are pulling for the Rockets over LA. I would not imply that HOU is a small market team. They will get better calls if they stay aggressive. If they don't they are toast.

It is shocking that they have won 3.
Sick of conspiracy comments! | 10:11 a.m. May 15, 2009
Looks like a conspiracy to me when Kobe gets hit with a technical when Ron "Drama Queeen" Artest goes running off the court. The replay clearly shows what happened.

Looks like a conspiracy for the Lakers when the NBA handed the game to Denver by not making that last foul call for Dallas.

If the Lakers eliminate themselves by not showing up again, where will your "conspiracy theory" be?! Utah Jazz fans have nothing better to do but spout off "conspiracy" since the Jazz team has "gone fishin" (as Barkley & Kenny would say!)

Kobe - All NBA first team. When was the last time the Jazz had an ALL NBA first team player?

You think you have better personnel than the Rockets?..sorry I don't think so.

LA | 10:25 a.m. May 15, 2009
Love Kobe and hope they take the series. The technical and theatrics of Artest were ridiculous. Being a ref myself, I could not believe some of the calls. I believe Stern stretches out series for money. LA got stripped by stupid ref calls only inciting Houston. Let's see how they do Sunday.
The Lakers had a weak start but stats showed they out rebounded Houston and a lot of fouls were let go in the paint.
Lakers should seal the deal Sunday.
Kobe has | 11:12 a.m. May 15, 2009
gotten plenty of preference in the past. Artest is smarter than the head case his detractors make him out to be. There is plenty of acting on all teams. There are also a lot of dirty fouls that don't get called as the refs can't see them.

Each game in this series is a reminder that, although Kobe Bryant is a top-notch individual player, he is a failure as a team player. If he could only remind himself that there are four others on the court with jerseys just like his, he would be right up there with Michael Jordan. Sadly, as things are going, he will never make that level.
Another vote for Todd | 12:57 p.m. May 15, 2009
Coach Sloan needs to retire as there seems to be alternative needed to make the big wins. Our Jazz guys could be disciplined much, much better. Hammering Boozer any longer is useless. Hopefully he will go on his own accord. He is an immature, spoiled whiner who continues to get major time, that is, when he is feeling just right. Our long younger players, especially Fez and KK are unknowns to the fans, why did we not give them some major time during the season. Are we afraid of offending the starters#!#!#!#!#!
Elkphart | 1:09 p.m. May 15, 2009
What makes the LALs so dangerous is that at any given moment their are 5 lakers on the court capable of passing to Kobe.

Isn't the NBA over yet. Geez.
RE: Just Awesome | 2:08 p.m. May 15, 2009
Don't get too excited the Lakers will finish the job in L.A...Typiacl Jazz fan you can't do the job so you root for somone else to do it..New coach or not the Jazz will be the same old team next year.
to reiterate | 2:23 p.m. May 15, 2009
Scola was a steal for Houston when they got him...reminds me of a faster Rambis, with more offense. If the Jazz could get people to hustle like that they would take it all. Kobe should not cry too loud over calls and non calls...in the history of the NBA only Jordan has ever been the beneficiary of so many one sided games as Kobe...and although I despise Jordan, he didn't cry all the time like Kobe does. I actually want to see Denver and Cleveland in the finals although it still seems unlikely...I get sick of the same old names and the same disgusting faces on TV. (yeah I mean Kobe, Garnett, Phil Jackson, Danny Ainge...) I think I have to go wash myself after writing those four names!
Re:Faker Fan | 4:53 p.m. May 15, 2009
I am just glad to see LA lose 3 times. Losing the series- priceless.
RE: to reiterate | 5:42 p.m. May 15, 2009
Blame sloan and his system,

he makew all the personnel decisions,

and sloan only wants players that will fit and are willing to play within his system.

hence,

no scolas,
no kobes,
no jordons,
not even derek harper,
not even bell wanted to stay around,

just boozers, maloneses, pure point guards, surrounded by mediocre talent who are willing to be the last option in the offense.
