Why do a story about the Davis Darts taking state in Girls Golf but then have the accompanying picture be a lady golfer from Brighton? Makes a lot of sense...
RE: Deseret News... | 9:17 a.m. May 15, 2009
Who really cares who the picture is of unless you are a Davis Dart. By the way...if you look closely at the picture it isn't of a Brighton Golfer it is of a Skyline golfer!

That's the problem with Davis fans...they think they deserve every last little thing! Get over yourselves! There are other schools out there besides the Davis Community College!

Seems like someone has it out for Davis. That's fine. We'll just keep piling up the trophies in our case and be happy with that.

Dixie vs. Davis | 11:53 a.m. May 15, 2009
I would love to see Dixie boys and girls go against Davis boys and girls. Those two schools have dominated golf for years. Congrats to Davis girls golf.

Congratulations to all involved in this endeavor. The progress in just one year is amazing. It appears the average scores in each classification are much lower than last year. Glen Eagle is a stern test. The experiment of Davis and Bingham keeping a lot of girls last year seemed to payoff. Someone down the ladder on last years team displayed the passion and made incredible strides. I heard that a sophomore from one of the schools scored a hole in one in Region. Keep it up ladies. This is good stuff
Fremont Golfer | 9:45 a.m. May 16, 2009
Davis fans better get their facts straight. The boys program hasn't dominated golf in the last 10 years. Congrats to your girls, but the boys have been getting pounded by Fremont, who for the last 10 years has put 7 trophies in the case, 3 titles, and 4 second place finishes. Who is the dominant golf program? Not the Darts.

Keep talkin' it up. Davis should be good, since you have 700 more students than the other schools in your region. Why don't you compete against 4A too.

The coach for the Davis team last year kept every single girl who tried out. It was a challenge for her to keep all the girls and to coordinate all the team activities. She was the boys coach as well and then she came back this year 7 months pregnant and still coached the girls until almost region. Her name is Mitzi Torgersen and she should get a big pat on the back for being the start of the Davis girls program and making it so successful.

We are proud of the Davis golfers, but am disappointed that the whole photo gallery of the game only consisted of one Davis player....
