Teaching early morning seminary were some ofthe best years of my life. I never understood the belief that it was the most dreaded appointment of all. I beleive it is the best kept secret of all.

Early morning seminary is the "real" seminary. The kids who put forth that extra effort are the greatest. I would agree it is the BEST calling in the church.

Counselor in the Ward Sunday school presidency is the most boring calling I've ever had. I can only imagine that counselor in the stake sunday school presidency would be even more boring.

But, I would have to say my least favorite calling was probably branch mission leader. I even liked nursery leader better than it.

Yeah, it is The Best calling! I wish I could do it for many more years, but everyone who has a calling (especially one they really love) knows that at some time, the Lord will need to give someone else the opportunity.

And that's when we get called as ward missionaries, activities committee chairs, or ward newsletter editors.

This has been a good series. I've been sharing it with my class. Now I'm waiting for the story about inner-city early-morning Seminary--kids who live miles from the church and their parents won't let them ride the bus at 5:30 a.m. Kids who may or may not get much family support or have two parents active in the Church, or two parents, period. Kids who may not speak fluent English, who struggle to read a single verse but talk about going on a mission. That's the story I'll cut out and give to every student--the one that will really say, "Seminary is for everyone."

What? I love my calling as Ward Missionary!!! It is a calling to reach out to all who are not active, find people who are interested in the gospel, and help anyone in need. What could be more Christlike? It is a calling to love and care. Actually, one shouldn't need a calling to do these things, but I am so thankful for this calling!

It's a little early for "Visions and Millennium" trivia.

I agree -- the years I served as an Early Morning Seminary Teacher are the ones that I treasure most. The kids I had were wonderful, and dedicated, and fortunately, many of them are still a part of my life. Given the option of other "callings" in the church, I would always lobby for the "appointment" of Early Morning Seminary Teacher.
