I will rarely if ever wait, an never more then a few moments. No ware is the that ghood. At Farreks in Hawaii, they take your Cell Phone Number and Call You when your table is ready. You can look through the Mall while waiting.

I like to go in off peak hours which usually avoids this problem.

Or some of these people could try non chain restarants. The absolute BEST Chinese food in the SLC area is Charlie Chows, and my husband and I have NEVER had a wait that exceeded five min. even on V-day.

We have been told there was a wait in restaurants when there were many empty tables--not enough wait staff.

The Lone Star Steakhouse always has plenty of employees and never a long wait.

Sometimes it's a matter of planning and management.

We never wait more than 10-15 minutes. We will just grab a burger if we need to. Although we were told one time the wait would be 15 min and it was 40, we probably should have left.

I remember when Red Lobster opened up on 13th East, the wait was 2 to 3 hours! I won't wait for that! There are lots of good options rather than wait for a fad-of-the-moment place.

There's more to eating out than just the food. Patience is a virtue! If you can't wait a while for a great meal with fantastic ambience, go to McDonalds and please keep your screaming children out of fine-dining establishments. TIA

I don't like waiting for more then 20 or 30 minutes. There is no place that I feel is worth waiting longer then that.

Gene

Or why don't more places just accept reservations? I still don't get that.

I had that "you have to wait" when 2/3 of the Restaurant was empty, because they only wanted too keep part of the place open. They told us we could sit at the Bar, Not Happening.

I said I would sit at the Table closest to the closed section. They said they had No one to wait on us. I said, All I want is the Salad Bar. They said they could not seat me. I said I was leaving, They wished me a Good Day. Thats when I had the flashback.

I said get the Manager, Get the Manager NOW. They did. The lady came out. We Talked!

When we where done she said: We will be happy to seat you Sir, anywhere you want to be seated. The billing and Wait Staff is our problem and we will deal with it. I assure you this will never happen again. We received excellent service and had a very pleasant time. When we left there where several couples in the previously closed section.

Part of the Conversation had to do with a Call to Cooperate, about why they turn down Money. The other part, was private.

There is a simple solution to this problem-Avoid the big chain restaurants-there food really isn't that good anyways. Get some culture in your life, why not try out some of those small foreign places you always drive by. They always have the best food at the best prices and are very accomodating.

The one restaurant that I will wait for is the Bombay House. I won't wait anywhere else for longer than 15 minutes.
