man, these guys better starting look for the goal more than looking for silver lining. I hope they can improve.

Roger

If these guys could only learn that real soccer involves more than just running around a grassy field kicking each other in the shins, they might impress. The trouble is their boss, Mr. D. Checketts, hasn't got a clue.

maybe the truth is Real Salt Lake is a mediocre team. Kreis has done a good job with you guys, but unless you have a great finisher the 4-5-1 stinks.

Stinks.

I do not call one save by the Chivas goalie, great offensive attack.

That is a Greece style formation that does little.

Nowadays it works less and less. 4-2-2 or 4-3-2-1 is probably the best most of the time.

A formation like this will be very hard to beat a team like the Dynamo in particular now they are playing better again. It is guys attacking the wings running with space, creative to support striker or whip the cross in.

4-5-1 again typical why MLS scoring now is at an all time low.

Ben H?

Huh? RSL allowed only 17 shots, 5 on goal. That was a strong defensive effort? Did you watch the same game that I did?

Me

Silver Lining, Schmilver Schmining.

A loss is a loss. A win is a win.

That's all that matters.

I agree with Todd, we need an striker with better technique and able to keep the ball in the attack, I dont think playing not to loose is our best option at home or in the road.
This is not throwball, where you have a long air pass and you catch the ball with your hands.
The change to the regular 4-4-2 and the substitutions were too late.
Will Johnson effort is amazing, but his shoes must be in the right foot; looking to pass to player in a better position wouldnt hurt his game.
Channel 2.2, have a camera director who know about soccer will help your broadcast, too many close ups without seeing where the ball was. Soccer is a non-stop game.

Chadders

This was a bad game but there are definetely some positives we can take and build on. If anyone from RSL reads this LEARN HOW TO COUNTER-ATTACK!!!! That's the way Seattle scored against us, NYRB, and Chivas. If we are going to be very defensive we need to do that. Just like Chelsea. It's ugly and horrible but sometimes it gets results. Also Yura should practise trying to score with Olave drapped all over him to get used to defenders being physical with him. It's obvious the refs won't ever give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Seitz was terrific on Saturday though.

A good defensive showing? Chivas peppered our goal. We're lucky they couldn't direct more on frame or it would have been a lot worse.

Let's hope the road trend continues (3-0, 2-0, 1-0) who knows, next road game will be 0-0 and then we start winning.

GO RSL! Win on the road.

Jazz....errr RSL

Win at home, lose on the road. Hasn't been a good combination for the Jazz or RSL. Won't go far in the playoffs until you can win on the road.

Play to Win

When you are playing not to loose you are playing not to win. Saturday's game was nearly unwatchable. The formation took RSL's best players and skills out of the game. This team is not built for bunker ball and frankly a 4-5-1 is for rec leagues and sissies. Man up and take the attack to the opponent. The best defense in soccer is a good offense. The other team cant score when the ball is on the other side of the field.

Carl

They lose on the road because they lack discipline. They get to the airport, head for the nearest bar and get themselves drunk, then show up on the field with hangovers. That's no way to run a team. It's a mess.

Ryan

I always love it when the pre-season extends into the regular season.

"Well, 10 games in, there's still a lot we don't know about ourselves, so we're just going to have to go out there and lose games and tinker until we get it."

Great job, coaches! NOT!

Need a Pure Striker

4-5-1 Might have a shot if we had a pure stiker who finished plays. Currently, we do not. The best legs are in the midfield, and quick forwards that can't finish are just a tease. Not only have we not won on the road, we have not scored on the road. The 4-5-1 isn't going to change that anytime soon.

Hurt feelings

RSL, why do you keep losing games if you can just tie every single one of them? That way no feelings are hurt and we all have a wonderful time!

what?

How can a loss have a silver lining? This is total b.s. We need wins!

If you would rather us play more attacking and continue to lose 2-0, then go for it. Of all of the road games this year, this was the best one. We had more chances on goal, even with the 4-5-1 than we had in the other 3 games. And, we did not give up as many chances on goal. Just because they are close to the goal does not mean they are really posing a threat.
Hopefully RSL can figure it out. We really need road points.
