Sounds like he is guilty of malpractice. He should lose his license and be treated similar to other drug dealers--that is what he did.

Deaths as a result of drug addiction are not the fault of the people who make the drugs. The drugs don't magically sell themselves and get taken. People choose to take them and then suffer the consequences.

Deaths are tragic no doubt but when will people stop blaming others for their own actions.

Unless the doctor force fed these people the pills or trained them to abuse them I am not sure why we are trying to hang all this on him.

Prescriptions drugs and kitchen knives both have legitimate uses and it is up to the users to exercise proper discretion in usage.

In response to the first comment: Stack had his license suspended two years ago when first indicted. Of course, it took an indictment to get the medical board to act. And I don't think he'll be getting it back.

This whole thing is about irresponsibility, not only his own, but the lack of ongoing oversight for physicians. The medical board is, unsurprisingly, dominated by doctors, who are in no hurray to discipline each other.

Sort of think that 8 years is about as long as he should serve. At his advanced age maybe 5 years.
