Phewph, I'm glad they avoided that scandalous PG-13 rating.

Hope lots of people go see it. I can't because I live in NY, but saw it in its beginning stages while at Education week in 2006. Also had Packard for a professor for "Film as Art". He is brilliant!

Please let us know when it goes to DVD as we live in the mission field and can't get the "good stuff" like this until then. Can you get it released to maybe a UA Theater distribution or something? That would be a lot of help for the rest of us...not just the In Utah bunch....Thanks

Hey first commentor, of all the things you could say you chose to say something critical of BYU?

What a shocker.

Good job, BYU students. I'm sure that your film is a movie worth watching.

Good luck.

The blood had to be "darkened".

It has always puzzled me how ratings come to be, and how people of my religion refuse to see a film if a group in Hollywood (Babylon 2009) decides to give it an "R" rating, due to something as ubiquitous as the shade of drawn blood.

That argument aside for another day, I'm willing to give this film a chance, and hope it proves to be better than the standard seminary fare.

Actually, for the budgets available the LDS seminary film are far better that most instructional films out there. Let's give credit where credit is due.

That said, I'm hoping for the success of "Fire Creek" because it will open up lots of opportunities for LDS filmmakers.

I produced the first BYU student film made for class credit(1971)and I'm glad to see the progress being made. I can't wait to see "Fire Creek".

The idea that BYU was able to evolve over decades into a feature film maker is fabulous. BYU is preparing many students who will eventually have careers the in film making industry. Since the industry is loaded with disfunctional narcisisim (assuming there ever could be functional narcisism) this will give them an idea of what it can be like. Easy to find fault, but take a look at the road they have come down, and Hurrah for BYU! But I do think the rating system is fatally flawed and cannot give an accurate presentation in a couple of letters/numbers, ie. R or PG-13.

I look forward to viewing it on DVD if it will be rated PG . We have choose to steer clear of PG13 as they still have content not worth housing in our minds.
There are more and more Christian based movies to see and it will a blessing to add ours to the list. Thanks

Looking forward to see this first effort and also the 200th and see each improve. It would add crediablity to the effort if the star etc was not related to the CEO though.
