ummm.
what exactly is a 12 guage rifle?
I would like to buy a 12 guage rifle. Do they have those at Sportsmans Warehouse? Where are your fact checkers. Nice reporting. At least there weren't any typos like I am used to seeing.
Would it be inappropriate to ask their legal status? It probably would be but I would like to ask and I bet a dollar to doughnuts that I know the answer.
Why are these people, with prior convictions for assault, stll allowed to walk the streets? When will out leaders learn that the way to stop crime is to stop criminals?
Has the sawed off shotgun been referred to the feds for prosecution? Why not?
This 12 gauge rifle phrase is a symptom of a problem with many news organizations these days. Many have little firsthand knowledge or experience with guns, so they cant easily spot inaccuracies in stories involving firearms. This makes them susceptible to misleading or dishonest press statements from anti-gun organizations.
Quotes from such statements are often included in firearms-related news articles, without the accuracy of the statement being questioned by any news people (because they arent knowledgeable enough on the subject). Granted, this particular article is NOT an example of a misleading quote from an anti-gun group, but it IS an indication of why it can and does happen.
When it comes to such an important and polarizing issue as firearms, its especially important that the facts are reported accurately.
The Deseret News has now updated the article so that it says 12 gauge shotgun instead of 12 gauge rifle. Good for them. I congratulate them for their integrity in wanting to get it right.
This person who has been charged before was found not guilty, that is why he is still walking the streets. And yes, he IS a Legal Permanent Resident of the United States of America. Chea has been arrested many times for being asian because here, we all know, "all asian look alike". Please attend a court hearing before making a judgement on someone's guilt. Innocent until proven guilty, correct? If you do not agree, change your countries wonderful justice system.
