Theres no need to worry, swine flu is just like any other flu
only god know when will stop the swine flu.
Here is another crisis, I'm sure the administration is not going to allow to go to waste. Bum's rush for health care changes on the way.
Is there a flu going around that we have never seen before? Yes. Will the President use it as a reason to push for what he already wanted? Yes. Who wouldn't? If you feel strongly about something and a great example falls in your lap why wouldn't you use it? I have read in a past comment board that someone wouldn't have been surprised if the gov't planted the virus. I just want to say that there is no way that the gov't would put people all over the world in harms way just to get better health care in America. What are people thinking? Get over it. Let's just concentrate on keeping our families as healthy as we can and deal with the health care stuff at a later date.
Liberals lie ... George Bush's fault for the incompetent Demonrats in New Orleans. Therefore it must be the B.O. B.S. causing swine flu.
Laugh out loud to you! "God" did not start the flu and it will run it's course (like any other flu) and it will leave. Nature made the seasons and it's spring (not a common time for much flu) and it will leave soon. But the fear that you guys cause in certain areas (about "God) won't leave as soon, but be assured, it will leave too.
Where are the other probably cases at?
It is stupid to shut down park city schools until may 11th. The kid is recovered lets get a life and quit panicking. The kids are together anyway. This is totally stupid
Shut down the State of Utah......Obama say's so!!!!
While this flu does seem to be 'about like' the regular flu, there is reason to show it should be a concern, and treated as such. While I'm not in the 'panic' mind-set, I am concerned about the amount of time it seems to take to get a 'confirmation' from the cdc. The equipment that is supposedly 'on its way' for Utah (and I assume, other states), to allow confirmation of cases without sending samples to the cdc better be here soon. If this is serious enough for the cdc to recommend closing any school with a 'confirmed' case, then schools should probably close for a 'probable' case as well. If probable cases have a 95% chance of being confirmed, then the number of days it is taking to confirm a case is simply not acceptable. By the time someone seeks care for symptoms, is tested, sample goes to state, then is sent on to the cdc, several days (at least) have passed, then several more days for confirmation from cdc? Again, if a confirmed case is cause to close a school, then a probable should be as well.
I live in PC, my kids go to the schools. It's a catch 22 - Damned if you do and damned if you don't. It's the right thing to do and if it comes to nothing, well at least it was good practice for a real pandemic.
I Quote Ronald Reagan "Government is not the solution, Government is the problem". When are we going to wake up to this fact and STOP expecting the government to solve all our problems, such as health care.
This is unbelievable. School activities like concerts, athletics, AP tests, final exams--all shut down because somebody got the flu and NOW THEY ARE WELL?? There have been 13 deaths WORLD WIDE. This is not the tip of the iceberg--it's a pimple on an elephant's back. These guys are nuts, and the kids are totally screwed by their decisions. This is tyranny. Who do we go see to appeal this decision? Nobody...these guys are unelected little dictators.
Swine Flu-These high school kids that took it upon themselves to gather at the local park are suicidal. There is a incubation period before the symptoms show up that they still feel fine and are not aware that they are even carrying the flu. If our children can't make the right decisions then the parents need to step in and keep your kids home.
a grand opportunity. The Big Pharmaceutical Companies are probably looking to capitalize on this. The more panic out there, the more richer they are.
RUN FOR THE HILLS, I say, RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!
Is it just me, or does it make no sense to close schools over the swine flu, but encourage businesses to stay open as usual? Make up your mind. Personally, I'm just continuing common sense hand washing, avoidance of sick people, and teaching my kids proper mouth covering for coughs. Beyond that I'm just letting it pass on by.
Stop blaming the authorities and the parents, its not any of thier faults. Its a flu virus! How many people die everyday for reasons like gun crimes or lung cancer from smoking?? I dont hear anyone screaming about an epedemic about those deaths and soon to be deaths. Relax. I drove by City Park in Park City to see the kids playing myself, and you know what, good for them. Go play and have a good time if your feeling healthy. That's what makes living in Park City wonderful, it's a very phisically active community. As it will continue to be, through this so called "Epidemic".
Every winter we go through a period that has been known for as long as I can remember "flu season". This is the time when various strains of the influenza virus get spread from kid to kid and person to person until a bunch of us get sick.
Sadly, there are often thousands, even tens of thousands across the country who die each year from influenza.
My question...
Why is this strain of influenza getting so much press?
Is it because it's a more dangerous strain? NO!
Is it because more people will die from it? NO!
Is it because it's happening when it's not flu season? NO!
Is it because certain political powers are trying to distract our attention away from other, more important things? Hmmmmm Makes you wonder!
Look over here! There are 9 people who have the flue!!! This could get out of control real fast. Maybe even a hundred people will get sick! We better shut down the entire country!!!!!
Oh, and about all that other financial mess and Homeland Security threats... don't worry we'll take care of that. But beware the FLU!!!!!
Whoa, the horse is out. Lets lock down the barn. Quick!
Silly reaction. In the meantime, all the kids will go out and hang out and expose people who normally wouldn't be exposed were said children in a controlled environment like school.
