Midale is raising the property tax of tax paying citizens to offset the cost of all of the illegals utilizing all of the city services and programs for free. The thousands of illegals you're harboring (ten to a house/apartment) sure aren't going to help you any with this increase. Once again it's us regular American, tax paying citizens carrying the load for illegals and wussy politicians that won't enforce laws.
Wow what a stupid | 10:46 a.m. May 2, 2009
Statement above
This person has no idea that all the illegals have returned to Mexic
We have a thing called Currant Events
Most Utahns don't read nor hear what is going on
Ignorance is a better word for Utah
Midvale is calling for a new election od new people
This is a poor topic in this day of joblessness
So who can pay?
The problems we have are from the past foolishness in Government
Not the mexicans, It is time to get over your hate
Yes your President has a dark tan, He is from Hawii

This money is going to help our mismanaged and less effective police dept. Lets cut some of their budget and see if they work harder. The recent news reports on what is going on behind the scenes is disturbing. The Police should not get any raises or budget increaes until the problems are FIXED.

Cut taxes and government pork and services. Taxes are too painfully high.
brilliant move | 12:59 p.m. May 2, 2009
let's see...deep recession, higher unemployment, increasing fuel costs, ever increasing health care costs for our citizens...but we're the govermenr. Let's just raise taxes...again.

Have our incomes raised by 6%? Has the city tighten their belt as we have? A cost-of-living adjustment is in order, but nothing above that. Usually cities lay-off police and fire fighters or close libraries as retribution for negative budgets. Midvale government needs to join the living and share the pain.

It is unconscionable for cities and states to raise taxes in times like these. Every Midvale official should be impeached and thrown out of office. In time like these, governments MUST cut expenses, not RAISE taxes! I'm appalled by this action.

Memo to Midvale: you could eliminate the fire department, and no one would know the difference. Fire departments do nothing, there are rarely any fires, when there are, the fire department arrives after the damage has been done, what the fire didn't destroy, the firefighters will, with water, axes.

Fire "protection" is an oxymoron, fire departments do not "protect" anyone from fire damage. Start here, Midvale, and forget the tax increase.

Only government can even think of doing this. When prices rise, property taxes inflate along with them. When prices fall, government raises property taxes to make up for losses. There's never an occasion for property taxes NOT to rise.
