They probably couldn't see what they were typing because of the constant popping up of the Travelers Insurance add. I know that's why I can't read the article. This only seems to happen with Deseret News!

Don't they bother to proofread anything. By the way, Russia is a country, not a county.

they wouldn't have a problem building churches if they would stop building one on every other block. What do they expect? I would be upset if you stuck a temple on the other side of my yard too...I wouldn't care for the view no matter how white it is or how many steeples it has...

Actually, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints last I heard (less than a year ago) owned fewer than 10 buildings in all of Russia, despite having many tens of thousands of worshipers in that country.

The government and other entities make it very difficult for the church to purchase any land in any place. It has nothing to do with "not liking the view."

To They Wouldn't have a problem: That was a REALLY stupid, juvenile comment!

I think it's sad that none of the news about the church is very positive or supportive in any of the reports. What is the real opinion of the nations and goverments of the world in regards to this church? from this report the news is not very positive and uplifting.

Shawilli, you might want to think a little about the nature of this report. Of course it isn't going to have positive or supportive news, its a report that is trying to find religious freedom problems in the world.

I think it is very nice to see this report getting the notice it deserves, but I would like to know more. I appreciate and want to know where the LDS Church is having problems. I'd also like to know where other religions are having problems, because religious freedom affects everyone.

I wonder if the Church will ever be mentioned for their activities in supressing religious freedom in Utah.

To "I wonder..." "The Church" far from supresses religious freedom in Utah, it encourages it! They sponsor many events for multy denominational things, they sell old buildings to poorer churches at GREAT DISCOUNTS for their use and ownership and promote healthy relationships with "Non-Mormon neighbors". Too "They wouldn't have a problem", we have buildings on every other block here in Utah because there are so many of us cramming to go to our church, they can't build them fast enough! The scary part my friend is this, there are 3, count them, THREE FULL CONGREGATIONS that meet and share each building! How is that for STUFFING A BUILDING TO THE GILLS!!! One Congregation starts, then two hours later the second, then two hours later the third, and they rotate start times each year! We clean our own buildings, have our own sports leagues, help out our own needy and all kinds of cool stuff like that! We don't charge for the use of the church for a funeral or wedding, and if your wife has a baby, we feed you for a week so she doesn't have to feed your face! That's Cool Huh?
