I've never been to Womens Conf. Is it meant to be sprinted through in an hour?
My wife goes every year | 10:34 a.m. May 1, 2009
To answer your question, the author of the article was "sprinting" just to cover the conference. My wife gets together with her friend every year and they attend several classes each day, but you have to pick from about 16-20 classes being offered at the same time. Sometimes, they'll both want to go to two classes offered at the same time so they'll split up then share notes. It's a great conference, with topics for everyone.

We need to ban this conference. My wife takes off for three days and what am I supposed to do? I have to take care of the kids and clean the house (sort of).

Actually I am glad she gets the time away.

to Ban It,

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic. You should be doing those things anything.

I was on campus yesterday for a visit to the art museum, having forgotten about the throng of women infesting the campus. I knew better than to get in anyone's way. (with everyone being so focused on making it somewhere obviously very important). I guess men get their hunting trips for bonding, but I suspect most of us don't come back with notebooks full of ideas on how to be better people. My wife and daughter attended so I had free reign in the kitchen and watched not one touchy feely movie. So I guess for that I can be grateful.

People should be able to learn as much as they can but why the constant effort to perfect oneself?

I just listened to the new Time Out For Women webinar by Sheri Dew. There was no standing in line; I was able to start, restart and revisit the presentation at my convenience; all from the comfort of my own home and computer screen. Therefore, no travel (and related expenses), no extended walking, or missing presentations, was required.
I agree there is a time to experience Womens' Conference at BYU - I attended for 10 years. An amazing experience to sit in the Marriot with 20,000+ like minded sisters. However, for me - now, the webinar works perfect!
Maybe you would like to give it a try...
