Snowbird allows snowboarders, what are you gonna do about it? go to alta? We both know that snowbird is much much better and bigger than alta
i love snow | 11:11 p.m. April 29, 2009
I will be snowboardin at snowbird to the very last day it stays open. Thank you snowbird for staying open for us locals so that we can shred until june! Love Rob
p.s. I believe it's only a select few of skiers left that genuinly hate snowboarders so try not to react to the troll, he want's your reaction.
It won't be long | 11:14 p.m. April 29, 2009
Until alta allows snowboarders too. It's a national park and there have been rumors about the government stepping in and making alta allow snowboarders. Not that it would even be a good mountain for boarders but just saying
Other open ski resorts | 1:14 a.m. April 30, 2009

Thanks for the info.
I didn't realize there was a ski area that was smart enough to outlaw snowboards.
I'll be at Alta next year.
RE It Wont Be Long | 7:47 a.m. April 30, 2009
You you incorrect Alta is not on a National Park. It is no where near a National Park. Infact the closest National Park to Alta is Arches. And the closest National Monument is Timpanogos Cave.

Alta is on US Forest Service Land and that is why they have to close in April.
change the rules | 9:38 a.m. April 30, 2009
The ski resorts need to change their rules, insurance contracts, and advertizing. I have noticed over the last decade that we are getting more bigger storms in april and may. Why not take advantage of it?

Oh - BTW - Most skiers I know also snowboard, and most snowboarders also ski.

Its the brotherhood of riding!

And so is the glacier on blackcomb. Mammoth mountain in cali. is going to stay open until july also.
National forest service? | 11:32 p.m. April 30, 2009
I'm not sure what that is? Isn't that the same thing as a national park? If not what are the differences? That was just something i heard btw.. Someone told me that alta will likely face a lawsuit this summer that will force them to open up their lifts to snowboarders.

I heard snowbird was lowering their prices for the spring.. They only lowered their day prices like 5 bucks, what a rip off.
Jack | 11:39 p.m. April 30, 2009
Alpental in Washington is still open into May, and as already mentioned Timberline in Oregon runs until September.
Bachelor | 9:06 a.m. May 6, 2009
Mt. Bachelor SHOULD be open until July 4th (like they always used to) but the brillant suits at Powder Corp will close it down May 17th with a base over 100".
