Local school boards can also set their own salaries. The Jordan school board is still taking heat over that. I find it interesting Horiuchi's sister-in-law, Kim Horiuchi, is one of those school board members.

Few wouldn't take advantage of a job in which they decided their own pay. And that's in the competitive world of business....

If you can't trust them to set their own salaries then how can you trust them with anything else? If they don't their salaries then who would?

I would. Or they could get a raise based on how the rest of us are doing. Now there's a thought.

Do you set your own salary. Most people don't, because it would be difficult not to pay yourself more than you deserve.
