Thanks for the kind words about the illustrations in my book, I had a great time making this story come to life. Ruth did a great job with the text and I'm glad she was willing to work on the project with me. It's nice to know my work as an illustrator is appreciated, so often the projects are anonymous. One little correction... I didn't try to start my career in the East. I started my career as an illustrator in New York City. After 5 years there, we came home to the west to raise our family. I still work with publishers in New York regularly.
