Booz was terrific tonight. Dominating and imposing his will. I say he's been our best player this series so far. Nothwithstanding, the rest of the team stepped up too. Even though Harpring and Miles were terrible in the first half they were instrumental in our comeback. Go Jazz.
. . . a whole season of deadheading. Picked a good time to show up. A little late, but better late than never.
Boozer won't show up like that two games in a row. He hasn't all year. Most players who have a great game don't follow it up with another. It's not human nature. Only the "great ones" can do that AT WILL, like Jordan, Kobe, LeBron.
Now that the Jazz have tasted victory through defense, we'll see on Saturday whether they learned anything.
Seems a little "nasty" came out last night.
The Mailman would have had 30+ pts to go along with his 20+ rebounds, other than that I think the comparison works.
@ PurplePeopleEater
Boozer hasn't done it so far this season, but he does have it in him, and in fact tonight performance was just a follow up of his Game 2 20/10 performance and his Game 1 29/9 performance.
Just in case you wanted to know, here is his number for the series so far...
23.3 pts, 13.7 reb, 1.6 stl, 55% fg, 3 TO
The Booze is back baby!
I think the key is keeping him away from Odom, after Okur comes back, anytime Odom is in the game either Boozer or Okur should be out.
Purple....Boozer has to sustain it for the rest of the series or he can't opt out. He will give maximum effort on Saturday.
I think magnus is right regarding Odom. Harpring and Millsap do a much better job staying in front of him when he has the ball than do boozer or okur, though no one seems able to keep him off the offensive glass.
I've been highly critical of Boozer's pathetic defense since his return from injury. He was finally getting to play some decent D at the end of last year, and I thought he might turn the corner. But ever since he came back, he's been simply awful -- until last night. I saw a guy that I had to applaud for his effort, for the trust in his teammates to leave his man when necessary, for his hustle. He didn't do too well at keeping Gasol from posting up at point-blank range, but Boozer seems to be learning. If Boozer can keep it up on D, the Jazz have a chance to win.
It was great to see Boozer back to form. He's not had the greatest year with injuries and personal challenges. Hope he stays with the Jazz.
It was great to see Boozer be Boozer. He is so impressive when he's on his game. Imagine how it must feel for him to do this while under such extreme pressure.
It was awesome.
JAZZ IN 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have trashed on you so much this year. Well who hasn't anyway your a man of your word you said we wouldn't go down 3-0 and you didn't let us
Remember Karl Malone He did it.
C bark did it.
Kevin G did it.
People give boozer too much credit.
He scored more in a loss in LA.
Win or lose his points just do NOT make that much of a difference.
IT was how the benches and minor players played at home versus on the road that made the difference.
RE: Jazzsmack
Boozer's points don't make a difference? Take away his 23 and the Jazz lose by at least 21 last night. Take away his 22 boards and the Jazz lose by much more than that. How does that equal "not much of a difference" in any way?
You can't simply take away the points.
some else would have taken the shot.
Difference?
he scores 20 they lose,
he scores 27 they lose,
he score 23 AT HOME they win in a LOWER scoring affair.
was it his points or change in venue?
Boozer was great tonight, offensively and defensively. I was stunned! And it only took 85 games to finally figure it out. He played fantastic, but I hardly believe that "he's back" yet. He's gotta do that more than one time to convince me. I'd still trade him/let him leave at the end of the sesaon, but for now, great game, we really needed him to show up last night. I really hope he comes out just as mean tomorrow. Even the series up Jazz!!
