But I think the umpire at third was the only one who thought Andrus was out. It was a great relay from right field by Spanish Fork, but he was already on the base when ball arrived. That might have change things. The play that saved the day for Spanish Fork was Brock Duke's diving stop at shortstop. If that gets through, Lone Peak probably wins. At least they should have had the two runners on base and another chance to get a run across the plate.

Good job Dons. Good job to Adam Duke and Taggert Lunceford also, incidentally two of the four Salem Hills High boundary starters for the Dons.

This makes no sense."Good teams find ways to win close games, but the really good teams find ways to keep games from being close.

Evidently, the Spanish Fork Dons are a good baseball team on the verge of being a really good team. For the third time in four Region 4 games the Dons (4-0) came away with a one-run victory by outlasting the Lone Peak Knights 2-1 on Tuesday in a classic pitching duel.

If really good teams find ways to keep games from being close how are the on the verge of becoming a really good team for winning a 2-1 game? That sounds like a close game to me.

Read the coach's quote, then it might make sense to you.

It is nice to hear that Brock Duke is doing well and his team is also!
Having had a kid that has played on teams at the academy and all star teams with him he is definatly deserving of any praise he gets.
He seems to be a leader on the field and allways treated everyone on the team as an equal.
Pretty good quality for the only player of that caliber in the state right now!
LP needs wins | 2:24 p.m. April 22, 2009
LP is 1-3 right now and although it is early LP can't aford any more losses against PG, AF or LEHI especially since Lehi has already beaten Timp. LP really needs to sweep PH AF and Lehi otherwise they might find themselves out of the state tournament for the first time ever. Giving up 7 hits and loading the bases several times isn't great pitching for lp but the defense did the job in this game and the hitting let them down against a good SF pitcher.

What would you do if you were in their shoes? You've been coached in an excellent program, your a starter, and you know your chances are good to go deep/take state. It would be hard to go to a new program.

Amen. Please no more comments about Salem kids at SF.As seniors they had a choice where they wanted to go. It was a no brainer.
