We could have easily won had we taken care of the ball down the stretch. We might win 2 in Utah? Anything is possible.

Go Jazz

Good effort from the jazz. they never gave up, but had way to many costly turnovers when we needed to score most. I think we can definately win one in utah, and would not be surprised if we could win both. Hopefully okur can come back and knock down some 3's. Lets go jazz!

the Mailman

Second verse, same as the first!

JazzSpazz

Jazz actually played a decent game tonight, minus the 1st quarter. The end score is a little deceptive, as it was a pretty close game down the stretch. They had plenty of chances but miscues down and a few questionable calls from the refs took the game away. I wonder how things would have played out if Okur had been healthy. I think the Jazz might have stolen the game.

Dave

I think the Jazz proved to themselves that they actually can play with the Lakers. I don't really believe they thought that until the second half. D-Will was awesome and proved he can take over the game and can even be more dominant than Kobe.

Hopefully we will get Memo back and I believe if we do that we can win both games at home.

Go JAZZ!!

even with mehmo around i still don't think jazz is capable of beating the title hungry bryant and his lakers.this series is already wrapped up for the lakers.Rockets, Portland, anyone?

ShobeTime

The Lake Show does it again, I'll be suprised if all this talking Jazz will amount to 2 wins by a team thats already beaten.

emeyessar

Bryant and his lakers trumped jazz ones again. Next two games at utah will be the finishing touches for its final nails in jazz's coffin. hehehe.

Is it me?

Or do Laker fans sound completely inept and stupid in their posts.

It was nice the Jazz showed some pride with a nice 2nd half effort. However, TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.

You cannot play 24 minutes versus the Lakers-. I got excited one time closing within 3. However, the Jazz I never felt confident they would win. It is sad they had chances given down the stretch but too many turnovers. My question is why did Carlos Boozer wait until the playoffs to have "a better all around game, and play harder and more focused". Still gets beaten defensively, but it was more like Boozer the 07-08 reg season and throughout 06-07 campaigns.

The damage with him though is done. He is gone.

The bottom line is as always to the "sloanaholics" Defense-60 percent Laker shooting, 11-20 on 3s. If they had looked more for Ariza, they likely would have given up even more. Too Bad. Dwil played his guts out. Millsap was very good, and scored tough baskets down low undersized.

I never said they would be swept. It will likely go 5. However.,I do not believe in "Moral Victories". The Lakers did not go all out and still won by 10.

Much Better

Thank you Jazz!

Look - I am always sad when we lose - but I can live with tonight's outcome - Lakers are a better team but we hung in there and didn't give up. I am fine with that. DWill: phenomenal performance (minus the 7 TO's). I thought it was ridiculous how well LA shot the ball - most of the game they were around 70% - thats just sick...and our defense looked markedly better...we could have easily stole this one.

The thing is we have some nice players. We need to start already looking to the future, starting 09-10.

In my opinion, this roster is capable -a swing man at #3 and true Center short. However, the utilize this talent, it has to come from someone else. I feel the time has come and change has to happen.

If Sloan stays which would delight "his heroes", then they will have to make drastic changes. If he left, (i wish) then maybe someone can get more out of these guys. CJ is a good athlete and I do not think he is being utilized to his fullest potential.

Kirilenko may have worked out with another coach. I do not think he has fully ever forgiven SLoan for the issues in the past. Sorry I do not. He is sensitive type, and people NEVER FORGET.

Sauron

Korver does not show up on the road. He passed up several shots, and missed the ones he did take.

Both games showed that the Jazz can win, even without Okur, and despite Sloan's best efforts to lose.
PUT IN THE KOOF, FEZ, and PRICE, instead of Collins and Knight. We need some size inside.

Buck Up Okur

In Jeff Hornacek's last couple of years in the league, his knees were so bad, that he could barely walk out of the locker room to his car after games. But did you EVER hear him complain to the media? Did he EVER not suit up when there was any possible way for him to fight through the pain and play? No. But here is Okur, not even suiting up, because of a MILD HAMSTRING STRAIN?? COME ON! At least play 10 minutes, even if thats all you can bear, and who knows maybe throw Gasol out of his groove. Who knows, maybe score 10 points the jazz need. But to just sit on the bench in your suit and tie, and kick back while the rest of the team is out there busting their A's to win in LA is just ridiculous to me.

KK

Fes is too slow to play against Bynum. We need KK in there. Why in the world did we recall KK just to have him behind the bench in a suit? Does that make sense to anyone here? Gasol and Bynum took Boozer and Milsap to school all night long. They are just not long enough, plain and simple. How do you spell relief? Koufus. This kid has skills and brings more to the table than Collins. I don't understand why DW even passes to Collins. That just burns seconds off the shot clock.

PUT KOUFUS IN THE FRIGGIN GAME!!

RE; Todd from Santa Ana

Are you really from Santa Ana, CA??? If so, I hope all the Laker fans in Santa Ana give you a hard time cheering for the Jazz.

Let's go Lakers! Time to finish off the series in Utah. Not looking forward to seeing the Lakers play in that arena after last year (stuff thrown on the floor and in the stands at the Laker fans)

I will say that Larry Miller was a class act!

GO LAKERS!!!

BE LOUD and BE PROUD!!!

concerned fan

slow start again for the Jazz, they fought hard though in the end,..Kobe had nine assist I think, poor/slow defensive rotation is the main reason maybe?.,.Kobe knows if he post up, someone will try to help and because he is so athletic he will find who's wide open and that's it, just one pass from Kobe,,if we double on Kobe in the post it should be an aggressive one not soft, like we just waiting for Kobe to just pass the ball, but the problem is he is finding who is wide open, no time actually for the Jazz to rotate on defense, Kobe is just outsmarting us all,.the best player to help when Kobe try to post is AK, why? because he has long arms, but AK must be aggressive enough when he tries to help, like his long arms should be waiving very fast and high enough plus AK can also jump while helping so Kobe will have a hard time finding the open man,.

TODD FROM SANTA ANA

I live in Santa Ana. I have lived in La area my whole life. By the way I do definitely get a lot of heat for it.,for sure..I was threatened once at the Sports Arena because I was rooting hard for the Jazz and my voice echoed in that place, but great acoustics there.

Look at these posts though-satisfied with moral victories. Why did they not play like this the whole game? Still how does anyone defend giving up 60 percent? Why did I not know SLoan would not be faulted for any of it. It is going to be forever I guess until we win a ring. If you just give up 50 percent and limit the 3s against to a more respectable 6 or 7 you win the game. It is SLoan history, even playing with the Bulls he was on great teams but always came up short. Of course when he played he did not have to worry about "3 point lines". No one cares though.

Too bad. I know I will get ripped if I knock Okur not playing...No Willis Reed today, Kobe probably played with worse injuries. Everyone be satisfied..

Ben in WA

I think that Sauron was right about Korver he passed up too many shots that is what he is paid to do. If he wont take them he should not be in the game put Matt or Andrei in instead. KK is ok but Fes is better defensively and Has HUGE tallent. Collins still sucks made too many mistakes. I also thought that Brewer messed up by not feeding Boozer; I also feel that Boozer really showed up tonight. I still think he sucks as a player and is only about himself but at least he is playing, even if it is just for the money.
