Ridiculous | 7:35 a.m. April 20, 2009
Saratoga Springs residents have caused major traffic problems for every road around Lehi, and now UDOT wants to do something about it and they start whining. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You caused these problems, now live with the solutions. Here's an idea, just start walking to work and we'll save your park.
Leave the road alone | 9:56 a.m. April 20, 2009
Just leave it like it is, eventually Saratoga residents will get so fed up with traffic that they'll beg the state to use the jogging path as part of the road.

It's not fair to the rest of the taxpayers in the state to increase the cost of such a minor trafficway by shifting the road center to the west...that would mean completely rebuilding the road and roadbase.

Get over it Saratoga residents. You should have realized there would be growing pains when you chose to move out there in the first place.

I guess it all depends on whose "ox is being gored". If it was your park, would you just quietly stand by while the road is raised 3.5 feet and much closer? We think public safety is at risk. We do not buy the silly "valuable farmland" argument. The Church has said the futute of these farms is to rear children, not raise corn."

Let common sense prevail for a change!

"Ridicuous" author- comments like that make you seem as ignorant as you sound. As a member of the community, we just want it done right, and I think ever person in the state of Utah would agree that UDOT isn't known for its expertise on common sense. You are probably from Lehi, and have obviously benefited from Saratoga Springs residents. As far as tax dollars goes...it is a very small amount compared with the gigantic project being done for wildlife preservation near Camp Williams....get a grip and get informed.
Farm Land | 12:49 p.m. April 20, 2009
Get a grip and get informed? The church welfare farms provide food. What does your park provide? You need to get informed. Farm land throughout the nation is being bought up to build roads for you city people who want to live in the country and then turn the country into city. I agree with other posters who say, you just need to deal with it. You chose to live there knowing about the traffic situation. Deal with the consequences of your choices.
Taxpayers Get To Ask Questions | 12:59 p.m. April 20, 2009
Ridiculous, you are not too swift. What does SR68 have anything to do with Lehi? This is a north/south road that doesn't come within 5 miles of Lehi.

SR68 is also not a "minor" roadway. This is a six lane road now on the west side of Utah County. Come take a look.

No one is complaining. People are asking questions of UDOT and as taxpayers have the right to an answer.

Saratoga Springs residents:
Get a reality check. Even if UDOT purchased some land on the other side as a compromise, you'd lose the trail on your side.

A walking path runs along Redwood Road outside a Saratoga Springs subdivision. Residents of the subdivision are upset with UDOT's plan to eliminate the trail to widen the road.
