It was helpful that the partisan proclivities of writers Pignanelli and Webb were identified at the end of this piece.

It was good to hear honorable mention of J. Bracken Lee who, for me, transcended partisanship and has deservedly become an icon for the freedom of the individual and constitutional government.

The inclusion of a Democrat and a Republican in DN's staff of writers seems fair. I still, however, am left asking these questions: Are half of the total staff of Deseret News writers Democrat and the other half (unless there's an odd number) Republican?

Are half of Utahns Democrat? (No). Are all Utahns either Democrat or Republican(No).

Does the inclusion of journalistic partisans best promote discussion of issues? (probably not). Who writes the "Deseret News editorials"? Editorials under the newspaper's name seem to represent a unanimity that seems rather unlikely to exist between the more failiar reporters.

Authoratative answers to these questions would be appreciated.
