New LDS apostle's testimony has become 'more real'

Leadership always makes a person feel so blessed to be so superior within the LDS church. There are too many people in the church who feel it is a testimonial blessing and a good thing to be at the top of it all, and this gives them a super spiritual uplift and a WHOLE new profound testimony. Take these special callings from these same people and then put them all into the Sunday school nursery and see how long their spirituality lasts.
A million dollars also adds to a great and special testimony.

I don't believe the Lord calls those who seek in their hearts to be "at the top of it all" to be Apostles. That kind of pride and the humility required to carry such awsome responsibility simply cannot co-exist. Every one of us can experience the feelings Elder Anderson describes, no matter where we are called to serve in the Church, if we make the effort required.

A million dollars... what? Anyway, I have met some of these men and I can tell you they are some of the most humble men I have ever met. It's not fake, and it's not an ego thing. The bitter always see the worst in everything...

Clarity through green-jello glasses is always the best way to go???. Good luck with this but Christ is always waiting on the other side when the mormon church cannot answer. I pray for you and welcome all the mormons to the Christ of the bible.

The Apostle Paul and Peter both strugled with sin,if you don't realize your sin,and you don't need a Savior.

Sincerely, it is so very sad that you do not understand one very simple concept. Ask the Lord if these men are called of him. Study it out in your mind, ponder, pray with a sincere desire to know, then truly listen to the Lord -not man. You will get the answer from the Lord if these men are called of Him. I bear testimony that is what I have done and the answer came in the affirmative and with a deep peace that the Lord Jesus Christ is at the head of His church and calls those who serve Him. May you have the courage to seek out the Lord and desire all truth.

I just love it when the mormons start arguing with each other about the things they don't agree on in the Mormon church. You got the long nosed powder-puff mormons who think they know everything, and then the opened minded mormons who question everything and seem to be just a bit wiser. They all battle together like one big angry family.

There is no disagreement with faithful members who put their trust in Jesus Christ. Since your denomination has such differing theologies, depending on the congregation you attend. ( I live in the Bible belt), please check out what the fundamental precepts of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are. Read the Book of Mormon and Bible together, read the 13 Articles of Faith, have the missionaries come over and just teach you want the church believes. Latter Day Saints are working to try to be disciples of the Savior. Surely, you, who seem to understand Jesus' teachings, would be the first to be forgiving of their shortcomings, as we all seek to be better. Bitterness is not of the Lord. Common ground with all religious beliefs is a unity that Christ continually taught and teaches today. Elder Anderson's faith, good will, and mantle to which he is now called to testify of Christ's divine role in our life. God bless.

The apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ who are living on earth as I write do have a special testimony and calling separate from all others. That is why they are apostles.I need the apostles far more than I would ever want to be one. There would seem to be rank in this church and many many believe that to be true, but there is no rank in this church. Today I served in the Primary for the first time in my life. Now that was a great blessing to serve those children.A testimony builder.Thank you Lord. Thank you.
