Oh, happy day! A giant multi-month reminder sign of how my government is killing the economy and costing my children millions.
The government creates no wealth, and running funds through it by robbing citizens and then giving them less than they were originally robbed of is not going to have a positive net effect. It can't. Those who say it can are alchemists.
According to this article, about eight people full-time for two months and seven part-time for two months equals about two (2) full-time people for a year. At this rate ($770,000 for this project) the full $213 million "stimulus" for the Utah transportation will be a net of about 550 jobs for 12 months. (Plus, of course, the jobs providing the materials, etc.) That still does not sound like very much. I thought I read somewhere that the trans department predicted several thousand new jobs in Utah. Is that a few thousand jobs for a couple of months?
At last, the stimulus starts. Too many jobs have been lost by lack of demand. Thanks for the stimulus that invests in our society infrastructure. It will boost demand and pay back in productivity. It will create jobs at many level and restart the economy. I'd rather see my money paying someone to do somethng usefull for the country than being on the dole doing nothing. He will consume more and pay taxes-- sales, revenue and others.
whats the math on this? To pay a handfull of guys for 2 months work and some cement is costing us 75,000 per guy. I want that job that pays 35k a month.
Part of this "stimulous plan" is to make signs so everyone can know how the project is being paid for??????
We Got The Worst Roads In America.
Don't Want To Fix Them Pot Holes....
No, your roads are in much better shape than MO.
This sign demonstrates that the "stimulus" is more about politics than actually helping people. Obama, or whoever, wants everyone to know what great things he's doing to help the economy.
Whos doing the work and are they legal tax paying citizens of this country? And how much are the workers being payed, or is the foreman on these project skimming the cream off the top?
And Don't Put Up No Dang Sign.
We Don't Want To Know Wheres Our Tax Dollar Are Spent.
So of course, all the Teabaggers who refuse to drive on this stretch of stimulus-funded road, will be getting of at 20th East and taking Highland Drive?
Have any of you driven that stretch of road? If it's in bad need of repair, I have a bridge that I'd love to sale to you. Even if you purchase it with your valueless dollars.
President Benson would be beside himself if he saw that. Its a good thing he's not around to witness what our country has become in the short 15 years or so since he's been gone.... ....
Welcome to America. Land of the used-to-be-free, but still home of the brave.

So.State Street Reminds Me Of TJ.
Never has building roads had a long run positive effect. The only explanation is to use the money for education which is a true investment for the government rather than building infrastructure.
I hope they cleared that through the mayor of slc office, Becker, Rockys replacement. If it has any ill effect whatsoever on the sacred environment, then is should be put in the trash bin of history.
