Comments about ‘Attendance at conference helped many answer questions’

The family has always put on their Sunday best and DROVE to the local meeting house? Sheesh. Does anyone edit these articles? The proper word in "DRIVEN." Someone needs to check for grammar.

That grammatical error jumped out at me too...but the point of the article should overshadow the minor mistakes of the writer.

I have experimented with watching conference in different places to see if there is any difference.

I have accepted invitations for my family to watch conference in a home with another family and I have joined older children with their families to watch at home.

There is no question in my mind that our family gets more out of conference by going to the meetinghouse. There we are joined by a few other families, all having gone to the trouble to groom and travel and put aside other comforts in order to have the Spirit with them stronger and avoid the inevitable distractions that occur in homes. It also feels more like the Sabbath when you dignify it by dressing appropriately and joining with other saints in the chapel.

I have never been to see conference in person. I can only wonder how that compares to watching the chapel.

So what questions where answered.

As a lifelong member, I have also watched conference in different places over the years.

I find that I get the most out of Conference under the following conditions:

1. There is nothing to watch (old men and women standing at a pulpit reading from teleprompters), so listening on the radio or Internet is best.

2. Avoid going to "the trouble" to groom and travel and put aside other comforts in order to have the Spirit with you because this only makes you look down upon others and become arrogant and self-righteous. It leeds you to post comments on the Deseret News site under the pretentious and self-congratulatory moniker: "Rewarded according to efforts", implying that you are more righteous and deserving of God's blessings and Spirit than other, lazy people who don't do Conference the same way as you!

3. Get the family together playing frisbee in the park, or having a picnic in the canyon while you listen. Make it an enjoyable, engaging memory for the family rather than a stuffy, formal, pretentious, self-righteous event.

to Trudy Conference always gives answers to the questions that people have on their minds. Perhaps you did not have a question. Then sure you would not find any answers.13 million plus members could not all see the purpose of conference in the same way.Do conference the way you want,attend the way you want,lean what you seek if its there for you and let the rest go.

Sorry but not even close to 13 million care about conference. Probably closer to several hundred thousand really care.

I've done conference in every form I can image. The one that holds the most power for me and I have the best memories of were taking a short-wave radio to the mountains in Nevada, a picnic and blankets to lay on. Listening to the talks without any of the distractions of home (where we prefer now) and the discomforts of over dressed uncomfortable church cloths ergonomically challenged pews air conditioning and heating that rarely works correctly in any of the many buildings I've attended church in. Instead listening in the crisp fresh air, backed up by the sounds of a breeze in the pines and aspens, and under the sky and clouds like attending in Gods natural temple. I find it the most inspiring and between sessions we walk in solemn nature and discuss the topics without distractions which are also found in the chapels with pot lucks between and over bearing crowds wondering the grounds in SLC. I'll stick with the mountains or any other place in nature and away from the crowds noise and distractions.

I have had a question my whole life that has NEVER been answered in any Conference! I'm still searching. No answer yet.

The question remains, what was answered. Were there any answers. I suppose it was a nice excercise of fellowship, but I don't see where there were any answers. The president of the church spoke. However he gave no prophesies, now did he address any answers to direct questions. If a prophet can't give answers then what is his purpose.
