I remember going to Willard peak as a child in the early 80s. My dad was able to make it the entire way in an old Ford station wagon. A couple of years ago, I thought I'd take my own family up there. The road was in such bad shape, my all-wheel-drive Outback couldn't make it.

Good for all of us.

Earmark?

Who put this stimulus spending in as an earmark? Why should the federal government be responsible to build this road?

Forest Service Land is Federal

Jobs=Good
Unemployment=Bad

This is United States Forest Service land. The federal government owns the land. We the people use the land. Why not employ people to keep it up? It gives some people a steady job and allows the public to use a federally owned resource for our recreation.

Great, another reason to have everyone else in the county go up there. Maybe the ambulances will get to go up there everyday now instead of every other day. It will be great to pick up after every new slob who goes on their Sunday joyride in their Toyota Corolla. It would be great if we could spend money on things that didn't make things worse for the people who actually care about these areas and the animals that the Division of Wildlife Resources supposedly "works to protect". If the road was left in its current condition with regulated maintenance there would be less accidents, less people, less litter, more animals and habitat because of less pressure, and less excuses for everybody and their dog to be up there making it worse.
