Fabi!?!? Awesome!
Great match and great result!!
News of signing Escalada and bringing back Espindola means RSL will be as deep up front as they are in the back.
would be nice to hear some details on how Espindola's return happened.
Now I really feel this team has a chance to win the cup.
9 points after a win at NY next weekend!!!
Looking forward to seeing some enlightened comments from our favorite soccer hater. Hate to say it but his comments are very entertaining and I check in to see what stupid unoriginal comments he has for us.
I am gushing with the news that Espy will make the return to Utah. He's a great technical striker and can even fill a hole in the midfield. We love Fabi; just insert the following clause into his contract: Thou shalt not backflip.
What a great Easter present, news that Espindola is coming back!! RSL fan until I die!
Espiiiiiindola!!!
This is awesome! I was a little let down by the lack of transfers and additions to the team during the off/pre-season but these moves are fantastic. I think it puts us right where we want to be. Very well done by the coaching staff. Possibly my only complaint would be the rumor that Grabovoy was chosen in place of El Khalifi, if thats the case I wish it sould have been the other way around. Go RSL!
Very cool! Players and coaching staff have raised RSL's profile and level of play on the pitch considerably, something the fans have fussed about for a long time. Now, the only dissapointment is seeing such a beautiful stadium so completely vacant. Not to take anything from the fans that have attended these first two games but WHERE ARE ALL THE BLOODY FANS!!!!!?
but cold rainy weather and Easter equals half empty stadium. I don't like it either, but this sport isn't established enough in the US to get that kind of support. If it's like this on a nice and sunny weekend, then I'll start to worry. Come on you Royal!
This is great news. congratulations to Edwards for getting the scoop. This adds a lot of excitement to an already fabulous season.
With Movsisyan struggling in the first 3 games, it's nice to know Espindola is on his way back! I don't know if I like Findley in there as a starter. I think he's a great 60th minute substitute because everyone is a bit tired and his fresh legs can blow past the defense.
I am with all of you. I thought they were crazy to let Espindola go, apparently there was more going on than it looked on the surface. Having Espy in the attack will make us that much more solid. I think that many people think that he will replace Yura, but I bet that we see him in Findleys place more often than not. With our forward play at the moment I can see him really having to work to get into the line up.
Don't knock Yura too hard, that little back heel flip gave Morales the winning goal, and his run through the middle caused just enough confusion to open up Olave for the header. The goals will come for him.
re: Nerves - I do believe Findley was the one with the heel flip
It was Findley... but whether the heel was intentional or not I guess we'll never know for sure. :)
I know Yura's not been playing awesome and has had a hard time finishing with a few key balls, but he's definitely spreading the defense and he had a spectacular assist on one of Findley's goals last match... I think after the strong finish last year, Yura deserves a chance to turn it around.
That being said...wow! Having Fab back would be GREAT!!!!!
Awesome! Our team is so deep now! When i compare this team to our former teams it makes me very happy. I wonder who will be the starting forwards at the end of the season?
Awesome. We are going to need more depth up top. Great news.
This is terrific news. But given Findley's hat trick and Yura's unlucky near misses I think Espy needs to earn a starting position. He most likely will. It's feels good to have such a deep team.
was the only striker that we've ever had that consistently scored and was a good teammate. This is great news. I can't speak for everyone else but with the way the economy is I can only go to about a game a month. When I do go I'm probably cheering the loudest of anyone there. That being said like a lot of people I was out of town this weekend. I'm gonna try to go to the game on the 25th. Hopefully I can make it. GO RSL let's win the supporters shield and the Cup this year!!
Dear Espy,
how can a striker that only plays 600 minutes a season be considered the only striker to be consistent? Honestly?
How about the only striker in RSL history to be consistent was Jeff Cunningham. Now that is a factual statement.
Dear Really, I think the sentence has an "and" - good team mate. Nobody ever said Cunny was a good team mate. But yes, Cunny can score with the best of them.
Great news on Espy! Any update on the Caddy?
