"[Chaffetz] needs to show local government leaders he can deliver for them."
We don't need Chaffetz bring home pork-barrel spending. The best way for him to deliver is to tell local government leaders to grow up and stop feeding at the federal trough!
Chaffetz needs to continue to carry the torch pointing our wasteful spending by statist politicians on both sides of the aisle.
"But he must demonstrate to 3rd District constituents that he has matured and can actually accomplish something (i.e. passing a bill, promoting a project).
This is the type of endless nonsensical rhetoric that has brought this country to the brink of destruction. The problem is exactly that, passing another law and creating another project. It is the antithesis of efficient and constitutional government.
This is exactly why Jason beat the incumbent who had a history of "passing more bills and adding more projects", which has contributed to this countries economic, political, social, and Constitutional demise.
How about some new political commentators with real vision of what new leadership must do to stop the freedom robbing governmental monster from consuming everything and everyone with their bills and projects.
How about something new and radical like, "government exists at all but to protect rights and liberty." Oh, I forgot, that's what Jefferson suggested. Or how about, government must only adopt essential programs that operate at maximum efficiency. Oh I forgot that is what JFK proposed before he was assassinated. They only sound like new ideas because they have been buried for so long. They are unrecognizable to elitists.
I called and talked to Emily in Chaffetz' office with a question 2 weeks ago and have not heard back.
If Chaffetz doesn't help voters with their problems, it doesn't matter what else he does, they'll look for and elect someone who will provide constituent services!
It's about time someone called out Utah's favorite prima donna. Chaffetz has never seen a TV camera he didn't like. But what has he actually done besides feeding his growing ego with more and more press coverage?
Until he passes a bill (how about something that cuts back gov't regulation, for example), I won't buy all the hype.
Lets see, Rep. Chaffetz recently spoke in the committee discussing ways to help fix the immigration system and in making sure there is the proper training for local law enforcement that are cross deputying with ice.
With Utah 2008 SB 81, we need to make sure that, like SB 81 requires, that it is done correctly. There are several locations around the county that are getting better.
Perhaps CNN, ABC and Fox that are covering Chaffetz after all, are not covering the stuff he is actually doing.
Even with Romney's endorsement, I think Bennett is in trouble. I won't vote for him. It's time for a change. Been there too long.
